There's no denying the exciting way we've been playing but my nervousness has been around the fact that the opposition looks where o'brian is and knows that's probably where we're going to attack from. I think Evalds just makes their defenders think a bit more. Evalds was faultless on Friday solid in defence, came in the line at the right time to link up and either passed or backed himself and he got right every time I think. Nightmare decision for Watto.

Evalds at full back for me , friday night, Gaz on the bench, bring Gaz on for Lui or Dobson. . I'm sure Watto brought in T Carney to put pressure on , Dobson and Lui. Evalds has put pressure on Gaz and has got his spot for me, all be it because Gaz was injured. it is up to Gaz now to get back in the team, in either through a player getting injured or putting pressure on for me one of 3 players, Evalds , Dobson,Lui. , Watto has said no player has the right to a shirt, hope he sticks to his word. I have no problem over a bank holiday weekend of using squad players, but inform players must play. We must sign Evalds up for at least 3 more yrs for me. I know he wants to play 1st team rugby, but Watto n Blease have to sit down with Nail and have a proper talk. ( who is his agent) anyone know??? For me i would sign 90% of the squad for next season and bring in 1 or 2 other players, whole change is not the way to go. We have seen that this year. went a little of thread there sorry . good luck for friday.

Whatever choice Watto makes I will concur with. No use having a dog & barking yourself. My opinion would be to play GOB at FB so that the 3 pivots can run Rovers across the pitch & put Niall on the wing but as I said Watto will know better.

After last Friday Evalds will be full back.I think he will now make the position his own.Maybe Todd Carney doesn't like sitting on the bench Maybe he thinks he is good enough to be playing just a thought.

I'm a massive fan of Evalds and have said on other threads that I think he can play a similar game to O'Brien - he can join the line, pass and create the overlaps as per our structure. If he plays more games he will be picked out by defenders in the same way Gaz is. That said I think GOB offers more because of his attacking and long kicking game, goal kicking and overall game management and maturity. His drop goals come in handy sometimes too! Evalds is safer under the high ball and marginally better in the one on one tackles. But I also think he's more likely to have a brain fart. I would love to find a way of playing them both and would have Evalds on the wing ahead of Johnson and Bibby, fantastic as they have been. I don't rhink you can argue Evalds has it on form because GOB is only out because of injury and was in great form. Evalds has been great against the bottom tea. And a weakened Wigan team GOB has done it week in week out against all the teams including full strength castleford. It's a great position to be in to have 2 such great full backs at the club

I think HKR may go a bit "Toronto" on Gaz if he plays. We should still be good enough with Niall at FB.

Think Sheens will employ spoiling slowing tactics to slow the game down but can't see the Toronto bare knuckle option being his thing.
