Think the warm balls for the next round will be us and Hull KR. Bailey isn't exactly known for being a well educated level headed chap so you'd think if Carney had called what he alleged to he'd have exploded and got himself binned off also. You would hope that it is a case of the touchy mishearing Carney that Bailey would do the decent thing and back him up, honour amongst thieves type thing. All the talk of Toronto being dirty was it deliberate? Think Noble would have had a hand in it if it was. Bailey did explode. He had to be held back by his teammates. Toronto played in the style of Leigh under Paul Rowley: throw the ball around in attack and throw the elbows around in defence. I think it was more his handiwork than Brian Noble's. Marwan had a real rant about Toronto's performance on Twitter, and was probably right to. It wasn't a particularly edifying spectacle, and it'll be interesting to see how many (or if any) Toronto players are cited this week. The RFL are renowned for apologising when they get things wrong. Their apologies are usually delivered by a special messenger who rides into town on the official RFL staff unicorn.

With regard to Carney I guess it will come down to witnesses. If Bailey and the TJ say he said it then I reckon he's screwed. It would take a number of other witnesses (and would need to include one or more Toronto players I think) or audio/video evidencesaying the contrary to save him. If he has said it then I think he deserves whatever he gets ban-wise. No-one should assume black or mixed race people aren't racist or At least won't say racist things to try and upset someone. Equally it shouldn't be assumed he has said it just because it is alleged. I completely missed the whole thing. Didn't even see the card properly and had to check if it was red or yellow! So I didn't see Bailey being restrained. That doesn't sound good but then it doesn't take much to rile Bailey so I'm not reading too much into it. I'd be very disappointed if he has said it. I don't think Ron Atkinson is a particularly helpful example. He was clearly heard by many TV viewers. I think Luis Suarez and John Terry may be better examples - where the allegation was disputed and the direct evidence beyond the 2 parties concerned wasn't perfect. This one could drag on for a while If he does get a significant ban We will miss his metres but will give Evalds a chance to stake a claim. Won't make as many metres retirbing the ball but I reckon he'll score more and be prone to fewer errors and head farts an Carney

Btw, any idea on the crowd? Assume it was pretty low based on the fact that Utd & City were both playing. Great weekend all round results wise... Wins for Saford Rugby, Salford City & Utd, followed by defeats for City and the bin dipper. Just need Lancs to turn Somerset over today for a full house!👍😁 Crowd was1318 I believe

Don't think the disciplinary review panel list has been published yet. Will be interesting to see if any Toronto players are on it. There were a fair few that seemed nasty at the time but I'd like to see them again to be sure A lot of the problem with the game was the way it was reffed. I'm with others about the standard of the referee yesterday. The amount of holding down and off sides not given (both ways), short 10m, etc meant there was no way it could be an open game. And the number of chances he gave them was ridiculous - blatant professional foul not yellow carded, high shot on Johnson not even put on report, late and high tackles on GOB in particular. And I think there may have been some miscounted sets. Twice in the first half he failed to give a zero tackle when it went dead in goal (one each way) and there were a couple of fours I reckon too
When they left out the niggle I thought Toronto played well. Typical Rowley team. Lovely in attack but can't cope with pressure without getting dirty

Does anyone know why Martin Gleeson wasnt at the game? Carvell was on the touchline instead of him.

Does anyone know which incident the Toronto Loose Forward Bussey was cited for? Only he was involved in that many Forearm / Elbow tackles it could have been one of many.

If Salford had played like Toronto last week we'd have no players eligible to play this week. The RFL need to take a deep look at themselves as they're becoming a spin off from the muppets

He pleaded not guilty because it was all just an accident. He was third man in the tackle and his elbow - if it touched the player's head at all - barely brushed it. Didn't do anything, no-one spotted it, nothing to see here. The RFL also accepted that he had other written evidence in his defence, but that his dog had eaten it.

And no ban for the awful scrunch (pressure on the neck) challenge on O'Brien, straight after he had been clobbered in the face off the ball, that lead to Brierley's try and then Carney's sending off. O'Brien not fit to play tomorrow, presumably through those two challenges. And yet it's a Salford player that gets sent off and charged!

Think this is why Ref Jack Smith got sacked from the super league. I also think his touch judges on that game should of been disciplined, if they have not already been dealt with. They did not help the ref at all.
