He`s very down about only 2,200 Salford fans at the game last night.
Obviously Thursday night is always a negative but as he`s picking up the tab very week his views should be respected.
The Salford public needs to get behind the club or I for one can see him pulling out and moving to Mcr once he is free of the Lease shackles.

I don't blame him.
I've often been a Pariah when this subject has come up in the past as I have often been of the opinion that the general Salford public don't really care about the club. A lot of hardcore fans are not Salfordian to boot and it's a worrying trend.
I've heard the usual reasons for low crowds. Thirty years of being in decline. Successful team will bring them back. The Club don't do enough. Etc etc.
Well, we're doing very well this season on the pitch. Best team in years. The Club is doing the best I've seen off the field to market the Club (Still work to do, but going in the right direction) and while there's been a general improvement in average attendances it's not as dramatic as it really should be. Maybe consistency on the field will drip them back slowly? To be honest, I'm grasping at straws. What's being served-up on the field is the biggest thing the Club can do to get fans through the turnstiles, and it can't possibly do more on that score than it's doing at the moment. Yet the 'droves' that were supposed to be staying away have not returned.
I don't really have the answer. Everything is going in the right direction and the Club deserves more bums on seats than it gets.

Carnster, you're right of course,we've had every excuse under the sun.Marwans efforts have been substantial. But,I don't know the answer either. It is what it is

How about explanations,as to why such low figures are published. Any person there, who is being sensible, would say that the figure last night, appeared understated. Do they exclude season ticket holders? Are hospitality people excluded? As far as I know they don't go through a turnstile. Yes the club deserves more numbers, but performances like last night will surely bring more people in. KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!

Could someone tell this.If you decide to go on the day of the game.Is it dearer than getting a ticket early.Someone mentioned on this thread he could up sticks to Manchester but that's not guaranteed to generate more people.

Getting it a day before the game it £2 cheaper i think. Anyway looking at Marwans twitter he says Thanks to the 2200 salford fans that turned up. Someone put this online and it annoyed me, they are basically saying everyone who sits in west stand could of fitted behind the sticks. Utter garbage.

Now that the club has finally managed to get things right both on and off the pitch, I think it's only a matter of time before we see attendances at the stadium increase. However, I think that Marwan needs to remain patient; the club can't expect thousands more on the gate off the back of a good start to the season. These things take time and need to be developed and nurtured year after year. It's only when the club achieves consistency on the pitch that this will begin to bear fruits.

I do like the man and appreciate his efforts with the team but he is like a petulant child at times. Asked him a simple question once on Twitter and get blocked. Made a suggestion to the club/Blease the other day that would help improve the clubs profile and get ignored, one of the sycophants puts something on and they all fawn over them.

Add about the 2000 Saints fans and corporate ( fans) think that means an attendance of 5000ish

Tickets are same price on match day now, and I think there were about 200 not counted in thursdays attendance as complimentary tickets to away team family, sky etc
It's definitely a concern, particularly given the docs previous for wanting to get out. The club are doing a hell of a lot more than they have in my living memory getting out there in the community trying to whip up some interest, they need to keep doing that. The team I genuinely think are the real deal this time, no flash Harry's just good honest pros. I think, and hope, it's a matter of time. Keep doing what we're doing and the crowds will increase. Just hope Marwan has the patience!

No way 2000 saints, I reckon 7/800. We took more to Widnes That's not a dig by the way, Thursday nights are a pain and we need to stop relying on away fans!

Heavy night on the pop last night Gadger?😉 The away stand holds 2500. Even if you had 700-800 Jonny Vegas's in there it wouldn't look that full!! Not as full as Cas granted but must have been 75% full surely. The only noticeable gaps were at the sides of the stand and they weren't that big.

Football is king in Salford and always will be. It's just not that simple to say we've got a population of 220k so we should pull in bigger crowds. The amateur RL set up is also sh1te compared to RL hotbeds like Wigan, Leeds & Hull and RL in our schools also plays 2nd fiddle to football (bar a couple of high schools).
Let's be honest, how many City shirts did you see on kids 7 or 8 years back and how many do you see now? Can we get the same effect with a good cup run and a high league finish? Probably not, but at least we can finally admit defeat and put the matter of our fanbase to bed once and for all.

Personally at the game I thought about 4.5k, but that's not really knowing what the west stand is like from being sat in it, so just under 4K doesn't surprise me.
