There's a bit of a thread started on the other forum on Obrien's goal kicking, is his inconsistency an issue? Has it cost us games?
We certainlty wouldn't have been in the golden point had he got his kicks in the mpg.
As someone pointed out he's 3rd highest goal kicker, but percentage wise he's 7th;
G:MG
Syned 21:0 100%
Walsh 14:2 88%
Sutcliffe 12:3 80%
Gale 25:7 78%
Williams 10:4 71%
Reynolds 10:4 71%
Obrien 17:8 68%
Hanbury 8:4 67%
Escare 14:8 63%
Percival 6:5 54%
Brough 6:9 40%
As we know stats don't always paint a true reflection, a lot of GOB's could've been from the touch line on his weakest side, if such things were too be taken into consideration?

Yeah it's a tough one to gauge accurately due to the fact that kicks are dependent on where tries/penalties are given. Also, the more kicks you take the higher chance that your percentage will drop. I find that those people blaming GoB for not having a higher kicking rate are not seeing this picture. Without being able to compare the current stats with where kicks were taken from it's really hard to make any decent call as to the impact, or lack thereof, of each kicker.

Conundrum.
He's clearly not in the Sneyd league as a kicker.
I suspect more of Gale's were under the sticks as they've had a few breakaways.
He does blow hot and cold.
I think he's the best we have at the moment so,until that changes,we are where we are.
Also,whilst I think he has cost us 2 points,they are Superleague not Championship points so to state the obvious,we are where we are because of him

It will be interesting to see whether Todd Carney takes over the goal-kicking duties once he'd settled in to the team.
