The BBC are reporting that the club are about to start negotiations with Ian Watson over an extended contract ( here). I think this is good news, and, as Ian Blease says in the report, a sign that they're looking to bring some stability into the club. In recent years, "Salford" and "stability" are words that have gone together like "Tory" and "competent", so it's good to see them taking a big step in the right direction. The report also mentions that there should be some announcements soon about contract extensions for some of the playing staff. Is it too soon to ask if the days of pandemonium are behind us?

I have to admit I was wrong about IW, I honestly thought he would be cannon fodder for the Doc but quite the opposite seems to be the case. He seems to be an incredibly calming character. Apparently there is going to be some announcements tomorrow at the fans event and 'Salford are set to announce an eye-catching Magic Weekend shirt and partnership that is likely to get widespread acclaim'
My guess on that would be the mooted NRL link up.

Is it too soon to ask if the days of pandemonium are behind us? I'm the first to criticise Koukash when I think it's due, but his reputation as a hirer and firer of coaches seems a bit unfair to me. Sheens walked, and I can't see any evidence to suggest any of Harris, Noble or Veivers were the men to take us forward. On Watson, this is great stuff. Local lad and well worth an extended crack at it. Edit: having posted this, I think I disagree with myself - Harris and Noble were both his appointments, so he has to take some of the responsibility.

Was Noble a Koukash appointment though? Wasn't Nigel Wood doing a bit of match making at the time, with Ed Farish and Graham Lowe as his wing men?

It's just been confirmed that Watson has signed a new long term deal.
Great news!

Good news re Watson and BMM with more to follow apparently. As regards Nigel Wood,in fairness to him,he was looking to bring new owners into the sport and needed an off the shelf package to offer. In that regard he ticked the boxes. He could only offer up whoever was available.
