A couple of news items concerning former Salford half-backs. Firstly, Castleford have dropped Rangi for their next game following an internal investigation over an unspecified incident. I really feel sorry for Rangi. It does appear that he has something not quite working up there and it's a real shame. He's one of the most entertaining players the game has seen in years, although you could argue that he's a bit like riding the Big Dipper: yes, it's fun and exciting, but, when it's all over, you realise that you haven't actually gone anywhere. Secondly, former international half-back and current international gobshite Garry Schofield has launched into Marc Sneyd. The part that really bothers me about what Schofield is saying is that I agree with him. Marc always struck me as a bit of a Stephen Myler: a very ordinary half-back turned into a better one by a particularly strong kicking game. I wonder if Marc will end up going down the same route.

There was quite a bit of info on the Leeds board yesterday about Rangi, funnily enough, but it's now disappeared,I think. There's nothing on the Cas board which suggests that someone's had a quiet word. I never bought into the hype that he was one of the great talents to wear the Salford shirt. Apart from the year he won Man of Steel I thought he was a circus act. Feel genuinely sorry for him though. Hope he keeps his job.
Marc Sneyd has turned into a far better player than I expected. Maybe I read too much into the first game I saw him play, away at Cas,where he looked if he just started to play the game. He's now playing well for one of the best teams in the comp. Good luck to him

I rate Gary Schofield's efforts at being a journalist/pundit about as highly as I would rate Joseph Mengele's bedside manner. I honestly think he has a big hat full of players/team names, pulls one out at random and then just launches in to a diatribe about how bad they are and how much better it was when he was playing.

He's the 'Katie Hopkins' of Rugby League. Great player. Immense bell-end.

He was forced to eat humble pie yesterday with Sneyd bagging himself a hat-trick, 8/8 conversions and MOTM.
