So I've just read on Twitter that central funding exits in Superleague.
Apparently some players are being paid £25k by the RFL to not defect to the NRL or Union. (presumably none of ours)
Also, some clubs were not even aware this existed (probably us).
They kept that very quiet - especially when punishing us for breaking the cap while paying players at other clubs.

You expect a level playing field?
Central funding is a good idea but does mean that certain clubs get significant help retaining the better players rather than them being shared throughout the league.

No, I realise that some clubs are importanter than others.
I would like to see some transparency though. What is each club getting? Does it count on the salary cap? Why has it been kept so quiet? Who are the centrally funded players? Can we have our 6 points back?
And mainly: How does it benefit us if 4 or 5 Wigan players are getting £25k each from the RFL?

You forgot the most important question of all! What exactly did happen with the Myler money

I thought that.
Aaron Bower, who writes for League Express, has said on Twitter that it's been happening.
He's just tweeted that there will be an announcement by the RFL tonight.

Apologies: I bought RL&LE last night but only opened it this morning: it's a main story and players like S Tomkins and Warrington's Clark and Currie are being funded by around £25000 each towards their salary. Again the authorities have done it quietly and many clubs did not know about it up to a fortnight ago.

I suggest we all write to the new FD of the RFL when he takes over. As the ex-CEO of Hull FC, I'm sure he'll be interested.
