But SKD in court next week. I'm hazarding a guess that the court outcome will decide whether he accepts an offer from the club or sticks out a ban in the NRL. Would he be enough of an improvement to warrant the risk?

If SKD is found not guilty then and has been released you'd think that he will come mid season and possibly as a Marquee signing. Not a directly replacement for Carney but could be a sensation in SL.

His ability isn't in doubt. I think he would be very good in SL. The problem for me is him fitting in and not causing undue stresses off the park.

That's what I'd worry about with him, said it tongue in cheek elsewhere but I'd keep him and Carney as far apart as possible away from training, playing and club duties.

Interestingly, Carney and SKD played together for a season at the Roosters. Now that could be a good thing, or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Just looked at his stats, as a point of comparison... He averages around 12 tries a season and has a strike rate of slightly better than one every other game. All playing in a superior competition. For those that don't know what to expect physically, as a comparison, He's an inch taller than Lama Tasi but the same weight. Obviously, a lot faster. Which I admit I was surprised at as I didn't think he was that big. Let's face it for all the reservations, who wouldn't be excited seeing this in a Salford shirt...?

Without doubt he is a huge talent, like you Are Kyd didn't realise he was so big can you imagine if he had a real speedster like MCB outside him, frightening.
Looks like the sort of play who later in his career would move into the 2nr row.
Just hope to God if he is found not guilty and comes over that the club has done it's homework on his off field behaviour and not simply bought him because of his talent on the pitch.

He would be decent in a Salford shirt. The Mole suggested that a deal is being considered by SKD. Carnster for every Youtube clip of a player doing amazing things, there's always one showing quite the opposite...

Apparently RL Hub reports that Newcastle withdrawn their bid for SKD and also that his form had dipped a lot over the past months.

A fresh start over here may be just what he needs. No good if he's going to be a headache though

Shaun Kenny-Dowell is rumoured to be considering an offer from us. Good player but has had 'issues.' Not sure on this one... Him and Todd together would be a nightmare

Shaun Kenny-Dowell's hair sample has proven that there was no drug trace in his system.
That's not me making excuses for the bloke; he's been guilty of a few drink-related incidents during his time at the Roosters. The Mole doesn't think that Newcastle will be making an offer for him.

If that's the case with the hair sample I think it means there's been no drug in his system for a while, 90 days I think I read.

Nothing to lose trying to bring him in for this season and seeing if he cuts it, think he pretty much will do and does bring a pit of pace to the backline when we are struggling for pace.
Can we sign him for this season with an option to extend for another season or two? I would like the club to use him better than they have with Carney, we seem to bring in a world class player and then not utilise him in the press and with the general public, Carney when he wasn't fit should have been pressing the flesh before each game, going out with the pop up stall and appealing to the ladies when he could.
