It seems like a wicked cycle at Salford. We have a workman like unit with so called ‘average’ players and do very well with them and get to finals etc and reap the financial awards that comes with that. We then spend big on players on massive contracts then realise the money we spend is the money we need to survive and then the inevitable fire sale happens. I think as fans we need to accept that with the current ownership model we’re a championship club in super league. Although I share your pessimism I think we're an SL club trying hard to work out a way to become a Championship side.
And under IMG rules, for all their talk, there will be no coming back!

I have no proof but the clubs actions follow the course of a borrower who has had its overdraft facility cancelled. If the guarantee for the said overdraft was PK`s house then I can wholly understand and support the clubs actions. However IF NOT I would want to know :-
a) The reasonings
b) The opinion of Mr Rowley of all that has transpired. Obviously we know the `outs` but we supporters are keen to know the `ins`.
Selling Croft & Ackers for say £400k and replacing them with just backhanders for Nene and maybe Powell is obviously good financial sense but only - for me - if Paul Rowley is happy.

Surely good financial sense and good rugby sense don’t always match up. I’m sure Rowley would rather players like Ackers, Croft, Partington and Dupree stay but if we can’t afford to pay bills then it’s either they go or the club goes bump. |

I think Cust would be a terrible signing. He never looked at home at 6 in a good team. I'd much rather take a punt on someone else.
I'd be pretty happy is we sign Powell. He'd bring leadership and the right character and work ethic.
