So I got told the info about Brierley and thought it’s just more negative bull! I’m my own worst enemy sometimes, I was near the ground so I drove up and Bloody Brierley’s car is there. Hope he is being measured for new kit for next season.

Well folks after supporting the club for 77 years and posting on this forum for quite a while I feel that I might give the forum a rest as it is becoming very depressing reading on a daily basis. The present board get very little credit for what they are doing to keep the club going, some fans give them no credit whatsoever, which is a sad state of affairs as anyone with a modicum of common sense should realise how much this board and the coaching staff, and back room staff have done since taking over the shambles that they did years ago. I have no idea how things will turn out, what I do feel is that whatever is decided by the board, our supporters and posters on here should accept that the way all the clubs in the Rugby Football League have been treated by the governing body with regards to the reductions in monies due to come to the clubs, these reductions came with very little notice, no organisation can operate successfully in a situation that we have recently seen.

Spot in and I shall also follow your lead as well osrd, as this forum has becomea shambles the last few months with specific posters just peddling the same nonsense that brings nothing to a sensible debate. We are getting and swamping oursleves in negativity and I for one don't need it in my life, so shall just stick to reading the news on this from now on. See you all next season at the stadium. Ta rar

Klopp and osrd please don’t be leaving. Yes the forum has become a little swamped with doom and gloom, but for a good forum to work we need people with common sense to keep everything in-line. I for one wouldn’t want to be in the club office at the moment spinning plates and juggling at the same time. Yes communication from the club is a little “guarded” at time, but I guess they have an obligation first and foremost to all the staff they employ. I hope we will get more information as and when things are starting to fall into place financially.

Well the board were quite clear about their closing down bogof sale so I think it's pretty clear, especially when you say meet our valuation and talent is up for grabs.
Will they hold a shareholders meeting to discuss these things ?
As an aside it may be an attempt to offload Brierley to stave off Brodie's departure. My guess is they may both be on the way out and Callum will be next.
And we will be on a one way trip to the champ And possibly beyond ......

This is a bit ridiculous osrd
If you have an alternative view rather than the board are doing their undervalued & unappreciated best, put it out there.
It is a depressing situation at the moment so the mood will be down a bit, but the information provided in the board's statement was hardly the stuff to produce any optimistic feelings or reactions.
Common sense isn't something only for those who wait and see.
I also think we've made the point about the RFL/SL and their shockingly bad mismanagement over and over again.

Ta rar I think when you disagree with posters it's as well to air your views. If negativity is the problem show us where the positivity is to be found.
It is interesting that this air of surrender should come whilst calling out those who are feeling down about the present situation.

Osrd has a point. Tomorrow a few of us will be at the Sub Committee meeting at the stadium we can ask the questions of the SRD Board. Being honest Brierley would not get a large transfer fee due to age. There are only Croft, Ackers, Lafai, Burgess and possibly Wright that will command a transfer fee. All we know for sure is that there is a 290k Gap. The stadium situation is not helping thanks to Garrido the knob and that is about it. We should have more funds with the ring fenced funding and also the Dupree sale plus increased ticket revenues. And someone mentioned someone putting 175k in not the council.

It really is so very depressing all this negativity. I have watched Salford through the good times & bad times through from the early 70`s onwards, but I think the writing is on the wall for rugby league in general. It is a poor quality game that we try and show and no matter how much we try and expand, it just never works. Yawnion will always be superior due to the fan base and global exposure etc and we will never compete with the NRL. Yes rugby league supporters in general think we have the best sport in the world, unfortunately those that finance it dont, the likes of Sky & BBC and other broadcasters of our game. I think I will be honestly glad when all this is over and the only two games on every week are Wigan v Saints and one other game from the likes of Warrington/Leeds & Hull. If we cannot compete and have to sell our best players to survive then unfortunately only one way to go and that's down into the abyss. The last few seasons have been great and I cling onto all the other memories I and my family have but unfortunately I can see the curtain slowly coming down.

To be honest I have been thinking the exact same.
The constant moaning and generally slating the club and more so the board has become tedious at best.
Think I will stay away now and leave those to moan and slate the club off between themselves.

The truth is there are areas of optimism, And the board have to be prepared for criticism.
We are not in a good place at present and if we can't air that on here there would be no point calling it a forum.

Partington and Bullock swap deal it is then. We desperately needed a forward but losing out on some of Partington’s calibre is a shambles really

Just read now. Big blow losing Ollie if true, would hope that it isnt a straight swap and we recoup some cash as well as Bullock.
1st thought then is that Wright moves into 13 unless we are looking at other options.
The squad is beginning to look worryingly short of numbers right now.
