Definitely can't see him being in our price range, and if we did have that money I think it could be better spent elsewhere. Peachey is a good player and I imagine we'd put him at SR and he'd provide excellent utility at LF, SR, C and even HB.

Agree with you both on this one.
As always, I'd be happy to be pleasantly surprised and proved wrong.

Quite a bit of noise that Brodie has signed for Saints next year. I hope it’s BS, but they are paying a transfer fee and we need the money.

I can't see this being true. More hope on by Saints fans. Why would we sign him to a 7/8 year deal and sell him after one season. He should be the last player we sell and the centrepiece we build around. Not just because he's a good player but because of his personality and character.
I started a thread on Croft a while a go but there wasn't any uptake, but I think we need to start giving him more responsibility and control. Here's a snippet of what I wrote:
"Does anybody else think we need to put more responsibility on Croft this week. Have him take the ball more. I remember last year, he didn't start great, then Sneyd was out for 2/3 games and he came alive. That continued even when Sneyd was back, but from that moment he just seemed to demand the ball more often from Ackers. Injecting himself more based on what he saw. He seems to have gone I side his shell a little in that regard. I'd like to seem he playing both sides of the pitch more often. Demanding the ball more as first reciever as well as second. And have him kick more often for variation."
IMO, selling Croft would undo all the good work of the past 12 months, in terms of resigning players. King said recently he thinks we are maybe two key additions to this squad from winning something and consistently being up there. I'd agree. For me those signings would be two props with real go-forward. Or a prop and a real talent at SR or right-centre.

Agree BDB on Croft he’s been steady rather than last years amazing.
As for Saints fans they are deluded their world and the entire sport revolves around their club apparently and they always think they are right.

Like the second half of last season. I think it begins with giving him more ownership. They do! Leeds fans are similar. I read their forum sometimes and despite several years of drought they still seem to think they are entitled to win games against the "little" teams 🤣🤣

Croft has been playing injured/ill for most of the season by the sounds of it so we need to cut him some slack (not that we're getting on his case🙂). Similar to last year I think we'll see the real Brodie in the 2nd half of the season and what better way to remind us how good he is than at Magic weekend?😎
I was on RedVee last night and didn't see any chatter on Brodie at all. They were all too busy moaning how bad Kendall was for them (they're so one-eyed it's untrue😂) and how amazing Saints were to beat us after we'd gassed ourselves out after half an hour.
I don't think I ever want to see Salford dominate RL if success is going to turn me into that much of a tosser.(yes even more than I am now 😁)

This was mentioned on the clubs letter sent out today
Salford Red Devils can also confirm that the club has rejected an offer for an unnamed player this week

I think if we don’t hit the 250,000 players will be sold, because in the letter king says the fund has slowed down which is worrying,we’re not getting to the target without business it’s another 100grand yet!what baffles me is yesterday a team with no links to the city sold out the stadium and we can only get 5000 it shows the public of Salford really are not interested in rugby league

Of course it’s slowed down we’ve done nothing to promote it since the launch the people who bought shares were the ones who were always going to. We really need to attract businesses but I’m not sure how we’d do that with the way it’s set up. I know if I put 10g in and someone put 100 in I wouldn’t be happy with the same votes.

Sale have the whole of the North West of England to pull fans in from and most of their fans are middle/upper class so have a bit more cash to spend. Union is a national sport, we're still pretty much an M62 corridor sport. Sale's nearest Premiership team/competitor (I think) would be Wasps. We have 3 of the biggest clubs in Super League within 15 miles or so to compete with.

Yes but last year they were averaging around 5000 and gone up to 8000,we can’t even get fans who used to go to willows because they say it’s to difficult!are you saying that in a city of 275000 people we shouldn’t at least be looking at 6000?

If was also their first semi-final (home?) In 17 years. They also ship in most of their fans from Sale and are the only local RU option. I imagine there was decent away support too. They also have far more money to invest in marketing etc. Aren't they something like £20-22 million in debt?
Also, a CBS works on one a one share one vote system. So £100 or 10k, it is what it is and it's upfront from the start, you know what you're getting into. Personally, if I could afford 10k I would and I'd accept I have one vote. It's about being a fan and supporting the idea of a CBS, which is based on everyon being equal.
The only other option would be for a CBS company made up of fans owning 51% of the club, giving us the control, then releasing the other 49% as equity. However, I doubt that Salford right now are an attractive investment for anyone in that sense. Maybe, down the line, especially if we can win something and build the crowda to 6k, releasing equity would be a good idea.
