I also hate to say it but was wondering about the coaching itself and Watson? Not sure what Watsons done wrong? Add back the 6 points and we're doing fine

I agree with bonitared. Watson is doing a good job and Sheens is always on hand to help. What we need is stability in the backroom. Something we've not had until Watson and Sheens took over. The Club is starting to look at things in the long term instead of the short for the first time, certainly in my memory. Changing backroom staff every year will get you nothing in the long term and a Club like ours needs people making long term plans for us to be able to succeed. Getting rid of coaching staff goes against the Club's current ethic.

Got to disagree Watson while a decent manager hasn't improved the defense one bit and for me we have a back line that pretty much is that talented does his job for him.
Geoff Toovey and Ivan Cleary are both kicking their heels in Australia and both would bring so much to the club, I'd hate to see a Salford lad go but for me I think he is limited as are our tactics, we still drop the ball off inside to often, go long left with metronomic regularity from the KO and never seem to have a plan B.

agree with MR the improvements made in attack are pretty good and so they should be, but the consistency in defence at times is teeth curlingly bad. Recruitment should be blamed somewhat for not addressing the quality and size of the forward line imo. I like Watson and am not one for chopping and changing (I was v sceptical and underwhelmed when he was appointed) but must question his overall ability at this level and for improving the side we have especially with Sheens on board.

Two things Watson is doing fine but defence needs sorting; and Michigan is right Gallen as good as he is looks tired and battered right now against Manly, still doing some good stuff mind!

Those two make me feel SRD are on the right track, there seems to be a bit more thought in the rumours at least these days!

Not a rumour but watching the Dragons today and Morgan Escaré not playing again, could do worse than look at him if any of the backs move on at the end of the season.

Kallum Watkins has been linked with a move to Salford. A local lad playing for his home town club... sounds good to me.

With our luck we've signed Kash instead.
If that little rumours true I'd be proper happy with that, seemed to have lost his mojo at Leeds so might be best for him to move on.

Can't that happening, to be honest as he signed a 5-year deal not too long ago, link. Think it's just someone on twitter with wishful thinking. However, I do trust that Sheens and Watson have something in the pipeline in terms of a replacement

Are there any new rumours and leads?

I'm noticing that the Luke Burgess thing wont go away. Some reckon it's a done deal for next season, but Moley on Twitter reckons he still doesn't want to come.
On a personal level, I'm not sure how I feel on this one. After plying his trade in Oz for a while I'm sure he could come over here and make an impact. However, the fact that he doesn't want to leave Family or come back to the UK means to me, that he probably isn't what we're after attitude wise.
