If there is going to be a quota spot freed I'd expect it to be Hauraki, he must have been signed for quite a hefty deal, back row forwards is an area we are more than covered for and some of the better young English players we have on the books will be on much less and offer a cheaper alternative.

Yes I agree Weller was in my mind, Sau only signed a year extension last year it on this seasons performance unless he wants to go back home surely he's worth an extension.

Not a rumour but there's a report on Love RL today saying that Rory Kostjasyn is likely to be headed to SL next season, cracking hooker which is for me the position we are short of above all others. They say he has an Irish passport so you'd think that would make him a valuable target.

Watching the Australia V NZ test, what a terrible mistake it would be to have Gallen for a year or two, I mean he looks so out of place in the best team in the world.
Sign, sign him NOW.

I was thinking the same thing. He's been immense so far today.

I was thinking the same thing. He's been immense so far today. I'd have him in a heartbeat based on that, he looks like the type who would take professional pride in playing in SL and be the pack leader/captain. Pretty uninspiring game though, England must look at that and hands will be rubbing. Australia a team full of fullbacks playing out of position.

Yeah it was a poor game. Australia look old and past it with too many Fullbacks. NZ will still be dangerous when they field a full strength side though.

Junior is a different player this season and looks top class. Yes,he could go back to the NRL or,presumably,he could do a Joel Moon and stay in Superleague but with a different club

I'd keep Sau if at all possible, of all the 'big name' imports he appears the most settled, there's no scandal surrounding him and he's knuckled down and is by his own admission is as fit now as any time in his professional career. If only all the other players signed with the same pomp and ceremony seemed to have their head screwed on we might not have had the issues we have/do.

Story going around on Anti social media that we are after a young hooker from a lower division, would still love to see Hood given a proper chance, seem to remember Evalds was thought to be wasting his talent and sent to Barrow, when he came back he grasped the chance given to him, wonder if Hood might do the same now he has seen how bad life is in the lower leagues.
Was speaking recently to a friend who follows Batley and he was saying that Luke Blake has everything needed to make a good quality SL grade hooker, in his mid 20's had a few seasons in the lower league, maybe one to look at for the remainder of the season and take stock of numbers options later.

I know Youtube clips are often deceptive, but he looks nippy, fast at the play of the ball and knocks people over for fun!

He looks strong as an ex with a fair bit of pace so I'm happy with that, yet again another young player for the squad.
Can you imagine the benefit to a play with his talents being involved with Tim Sheens and possibly Gallen next year would bring.

Last night showed what a good hooker can do, Tomkins looks to pass way to much where as Roby makes cheap meters in every set of 6, the top 8 is now a pipe dream so get this kid in and give him the rest of the season to prove himself.
With the other 2 youngsters also on the books Lee and Tomkins must know they up their game or start looking for a new club, Lee for me is worth keeping for what he brings when he is fully fit but Tomkins sorry if he had a different family name wouldn't be thought of worth the squad place.

anyone heard of any players we might be looking at to strengthen for this season coz we need it. I also hate to say it but was wondering about the coaching itself and Watson?
