I'd heard from one or two people he chose Leeds. Not concrete mind. I hope he stays as get him working behind a decent pack and he's a really good half back..remember the first half of this season?

The Doc said he is going nowhere in fact he wants a new contract. The fact is players tend to behave the way they do these days and rarely get any blame attached to them. As far as the Doc is concerned Lui is a Salford player and he would like to extend his contract, but Lui may have other ideas. Him leaving does not mean the Doc was wrong and the only thing he'll have been mistaken about was the intentions of the player himself. The Fages situation was a case in point the player was determined to leave used a few simple and questionable strategies and was gone on his search for trophies and medals.

In relation to the meeting.I took it that Lui had spoken to Marwan personally that the Doc was relaying first hand information if I am right and then Lui went back on his word and finished up some where else at the start of the season. Then we did not want him in the first place.

Or like the Tim Sheens, Fages, Tasi, Sneyd scenario where he preached from the rooftops that they weren't going anywhere with their future clubs announcing their signings a few weeks later. He lies constantly. This is why I never take any of this Q&A stuff seriously. How many of these meetings has he had? How many of the things he has said are true? Where isnoir money from the council he said they owe us? This is just one of the many ridiculous statements.

Well: Tim wanted to coach, Tasi was courted, Fages wanted away, trophies and was courted, Sneyd never got over being farmed out to Cas for Rangi. The other sides to the same stories that everyone ignores when blaming the Doc. Handy, but very imbalanced. The statements become ridiculous when other people than ourselves are involved. The other side to the Fages comedy was the Doc trying to do a deal for him a player that was never going to come back. And for the way he treated Salford, and unlike Tasi I hope he never does. But I would like Stefan to return.

Hmm - ' lying ' is a bit dramatic -
in Player -Management & contractual matters - there is little else Marwan is entitled to say without breaking confidentiality. So if he said - Liu is contracted with us next season & he has discussed a extended deal, that is probably truthful & factual .
I would take it Salford don't want to sell , so any move will be intimated by the actions of the Player or his agent , and if they want to go then I expect our Coach & owner to play a straight bat , not make it personal & get the best deal they can for the club .

In other better news, atkins has signed an extension with wire. Happy about that one being wrong!

In other better news, atkins has signed an extension with wire. Happy about that one being wrong! Absolutely. A player considered integral to the SL Grand finalists and CC finalists would offer nothing to help out top 8 aspirations in a position we need to strengthen. Don't understand the general level of criticism of Atkins in this Board

But I would like Stefan to return. I don't think anyone was saying it was solely or even partially MK's fault those players/coaches left. But it is fair to say that he stated all of them were definitely staying so him saying Lui is definitely staying doesn't necessarily mean he is. Don't know what else he could say because we want to strengthen our hands in negotiations so we don't want to appear to be giving them away. But any owner or coach saying a player is going nowhere should be treated with a healthy level of scepticism. Doesn't make them liars necessarily either

Don't understand the general level of criticism of Atkins in this Board My opinion, he's average and very over rated. He's lost a yard of pace and doesn't pass. Personally prefer sau, evalds, Jones. Certainly no where near good enough for wire and one of the reasons why they didn't win the gf.

I agree he's certainly lost some pace and isn't the player he once was. I'd still take him though As you say it's all about opinions
