He looks big enough to be a centre or winger. He'll be an extra body in the squad, and in a position we're short in. Whether he goes well is up to him and how the Club handle him. Iirc there's also something in the cap rules that either exempts the first contract in RL or at a significant 'discount' for RU players making the transition to proper Rugby. Correct me if I'm wrong of course, I may be miles off with that statement. Butcher , New talent pool Players allowance. Clause 5.13. 50% of the players salary Will not count towards aggregate salary cap, Any player who has come from another sport and not participated in high level Rl NRl competition. Limited to two per squad. Cheers, MM. I knew there was something but couldn't remember the details. Makes a lot of sense for the Club to pick up a player with potential to be a good RL player from RU. British and cheap on the cap.

According to the SUN we have snubbed the chance to sign him Must be a good reason. Maybe too much money wanted, or doesn't fit in with the ethic Watson wants.

Iloverugbyleague has picked it up too, with a quote from Ian Blease. Probably the right thing to do. What he did - giving Sale's game plan away to his brother, who plays for the team they were about to face - isn't good. The RFU have released a transcript of the conversation between Tom Arscott (TA) and his brother (B), and it's shocking: TA: "...yeh, so the plan is to give the ball to some fat blokes. They're going to shove it up their jumpers and then waddle around with their arses in the air for a few minutes. Eventually, they're going to give it to another bloke, and he's going to boot it downfield in the hope that something comes of it." B: "Eh? But that's our game plan too!" Pretty damning stuff, as I'm sure you'll agree.
