A friend told me today that he had read in today's paper (don't know which newspaper) that we have signed Tom Arscott, think he is a winger. Following his sacking at Sale Sharks. Anyone enlarge or confirm this ? This the fella who gave Sale's team secrets away to his brother at Bristol

Arscott I think you mean.
RU Winger/Fullback. Was top try scorer for Sale last year. Apart from that couldn't tell you what he's like or if there's any truth in it.

Seems a strange one. Not so much the potential signing but more that it's been reported in the paper but no announcement from the club

Is Andrade still at Salford? I'd forgot all about him

No went to All Golds. Seems their version of League Weekly says a deal should be done by the end of the week.

If it turned out he'd contrived the situation at Sale just to get out of his contract and move to league, I think I'd probably laugh my cock off.

He's a pretty decent winger and can see him making the transition, the issue we might have with him is there's very little option of blooding him at a lower level unless he is loaned out and you're certain he'd get mullered by some Neanderthal from a lower league club looking to make a name for himself.
Cracking press to be had from this though if handled right, maybe we should ask his brother if he has signed as they're bound to have discussed.

Keith Fielding did not go on loan he went right in the team.If this lad is any good and does sign he can do the same.

He looks big enough to be a centre or winger. He'll be an extra body in the squad, and in a position we're short in. Whether he goes well is up to him and how the Club handle him. Iirc there's also something in the cap rules that either exempts the first contract in RL or at a significant 'discount' for RU players making the transition to proper Rugby. Correct me if I'm wrong of course, I may be miles off with that statement.

Ol' Man Koukash has started following him on Twitter in the last week or so since his axing from Sale.

Was a decent back at Sale. Not a world beater but solid and not bad in the tackle either. I can see him transitioning to League nicely. Question for me would be where does he fit in? Safe pair of hands, but is he an upgrade on what we already have?

I'd be more than happy for the club to bring in a British player, he might come from RU but surely there's nothing wrong in reversing the trend and as I said yesterday if handled properly the PR from this could be a master stroke.
Don't quite think he has the physical presence to be a centre in league but has the pace and finishing ability to become a decent winger and as we saw in the 4 Nations we can't lay claim to many decent English wingers currently.
