With the sad news Bradford have gone to the wall (again) I'm wondering if the rest of rugby league in the UK might look seriously if the RFL in it's current guise is fit to run the game? There are reports on line that Marc Green is being investigated for fraud, missing money and false accounting which does beg the question how well vetted for the fit & proper test was he?
Might be fun if the Doc was to re instigate his call for a vote of no confidence in the powers that be right now as I'm sure he would get a much more sympathetic ear from many chairman than last time. I always wonder if another club was near to extinction if the RFL would purchase the ground they play on to alleviate the financial burden as they did with Bradford before they gave Green the go ahead to drag them backwards to an even worse place.

Apparently Salford are to offer loan player assistance, might be a good avenue for some of the younger players to test themselves.

It's good Salford are offering to help. I'm certainly no Bradford fan but a small sport such as rugby league can't afford to lose clubs with history like theirs. I do wander if anybody would have offered to help if Salford had folded a few years back though.

That doesn't change the fact that you should offer help to a friend (or anybody, really) who finds themselves in trouble. It's the right thing to do, regardless.

Agreed. I was just trying to make the point that it shouldn't be that certain clubs will get help if they're in trouble and others don't. Surely more teams competing can only be for the good of the game in general

Can't see how they could have kicked them out of the championship with all the fixtures already announced but the 12 point deduction for me is fully justified.
As others say doubt a Salford or Wakefield would have been given the assistence Bradford have had over the years, them buying the stadium was a highly dodgy business deal for me, as to be fair it appears was giving Marc Green the go ahead.
Salford lending players is a master stroke, Bradford is a RL hotbed so you'd think the club will get to see good young Bradford players first hand and steal a march on any available to sign.

There's every chance they'll go down at the end of the season. Twelve points is a lot to make up with a side likely to be cobbled together with whoever they can get hold of

From what I have read in the RFL rules any delay in paying HMRC over 28 days has to be reported to RFL to retain membership. Given that the failure to pay HMRC has been known about for a long time why has the RFL not taken action earlier and before administration

The reality is they have screwed up big time with Bradford, twice now people have been given control of a big rugby league club and run it even further into the ground, horrible as it is if anything goes wrong this season I can see Bradford folding permanently.
