Watson thinks Murray will be the new Chris Hill and is pushing for a first team spot
We're still looking for a centre with Kris Whelham on the list but are competing with Hudds and Leigh.
Lui is fit and doing the old rugby league speciality of training the house down.

Welham would fill a role and leave a non-fed spot open if the right one became available.

Welham will be a good stop gap for this year.
Why didn't Warrington see Murray as the next Hill?

Why didn't Warrington see Murray as the next Hill? To busy looking for quotes for getting the trophy cabinet extended as it's going to be their year

Warrington offered him a contract out of the reserves which was a pittance compared to what we offered. Reserve player of the year 2015.

Sounds positive then, certainly hope their loss is our gain.
Can't recall but presuming this was a Sheens signing with it being tied up early last season?

Why does watto not get any credit for the signing? Thought sheens was just getting credit for all the overseas signings, now it appears it's everything? Probably won the mpg for us as well!

Not disagreeing with you in any way, but regarding your last point, O'Brien and Dobson said that the week before the MPG, he was going through drop goal training with them, and the guys were under-hitting them so as not to lose too many rugby balls. Sheens told them to make-sure they hit them hard as they needed to do it properly and not to worry about the balls as he'd go and collect them. Which he did. Not saying it won us the MPG but it's a good, and true, story.

Reports that Cas have rejected offers to take players from Bradford, if done for the right reasons commendable but the cynic in me thinks they are seeking as much moral high ground as possible before the upcoming Solomona case starts. You'd think also that as the players haven't been paid for over a month that it's not exactly doing them any favours if a club has a genuine interest to sign them but don't because of what it might do to Bradford.

Well, it seems Bradford have gone into liquidation and all their staff made redundant. What an absolute tragedy. I feel really sorry for the fans, particularly as we were nearly there ourselves a few years ago. I guess what this means is that if Salford (or anyone for that matter) is going to pick over the bones, we'll probably start seeing some announcements soon.

Calm down there fella or should I say Ian? Firstly wasn't that one of Sheens roles in his job description......recruitment, so I'd say naturally that's why people assume Sheens made the signings, just a thought. It was only a question, we know Sheens has to be credited for the overseas signings at the time, it was just from a personal interest (not that we'd probably ever get to know) to see who made the decisions over the likes of Brinning and Murray, more to guage if Wattos judgement had improved as he did bring us Phil Joseph.
