I know it's SARL, but this is welcome news if true... Click me!

Heard this a while back I'm fairly certain he's staying and taking the director path

I'd heard similar, Redrum, but wasn't sure of how true it may be. I think PR and Haggerty combo is a solid one when and if it happens. No complaints from me.

He would, in my opinion, make a very good director of rugby and be fantastic support to Haggerty taking over as head coach.

Leeds are appointing Brad Arthur until the end of the season and will then look to appoint a new head coach in the close season. Got a feeling they will come back in for Rowley.

Brad Arthur is a top coach. Is he really going to come over just to fill a temp role? I highly doubt it. *edit* Seems like this might be the case. Although Leeds have not confirmed as of yet. Not great for potentially losing PR at end of the season.

Not great for potentially losing PR at end of the season. I've given up altogether now, there's only so much you can take. Not only are SRD constantly messed about by rumours and losses but the chances of long term stability and planning go completely out the window as well. So for all the lack of positivity, optimism and confidence I might as well be a Newcastle Thunder fan.

I do understand Russ, continuous snakes and ladders …stability and openness needed..if Rowley goes you have a travelling companion to the NE😉

All the lack of positivity and optimism? Were joint 2nd in the league, having just won 4 on the bounce?? How much glass half empty do you need to be? I don’t understand our fans at times

Rowley going is just evidence we're never going to take the final step(s).
Love the way we play, brilliant how well we're doing but so tired of the same old, same old one step forward four into yesterday and if people can't understand what the problem is tough!

I kinda see both sides here.
We're doing very well on results and league standing. We have a small but committed squad who really work for each other. We have a great coaching team that really knows its stuff.
Yet, here lies the doubt for me. We are so reliant on how PR and KH weave their magic, that the constant cherry-picking of our assets over the last few years grows tiring. Poor treatment of our club by media, asking questions and joking about personnel leaving because they'd be stupid not to go to *Insert team living off reputation here*
On the face of it, we're having one of our best seasons, and I don't think we've even played to our potential yet. But the constant circling of the ropey broken-down vultures and the expectation from the media that those vultures represent better opportunity than a side on the up and gaining plaudits from multiple sources is a constant anchor on every Salford fans soul.
Look at today. We beat an awful Hull side playing some of the worst RL imaginable. A side that constantly blows its ample resources, under performs, and generally is the home of the definition of mediocrity. Yet it's all about how Hull will be a force (again) next season because of a poisoned dwarf and his father-in-laws money. You can bet that come next pre-season, pundits and fans alike will have Hull knocking on the GF as usual and then p1ssing it all away half way through the season.
It's great to be optimistic about the club at the moment, but it's equally viable to see why some are always pessimistic about the future.

Realistically we’re always going to be one of those teams who gets cherry picked, in my lifetime we always have been and I don’t see that changing. But unless you’re Wigan or Saints, who isn’t? There’s always a bigger fish waiting to take your best players or coach if they’re doing well. We just need to get the best out of the deal when that happens. I do get that’s frustrating and of course losing Rowley would worry me too, but to suggest a) there’s nothing to be optimistic about, and b) if it does happen go to support Newcastle is ridiculous on both parts.
It’s all part of the fun of being a Salford fan, and I’d rather have that than any other club.

We provide that many players and staff to other clubs we almost deserve extra IMG points. 🤭 We’ve polished more rough diamonds than Beaverbrooks .

The point is that until, if and when, we have at least five years of stability we are unlikely to challenge the top team consistently. Just look at which teams have that consistent planning and processes and you'll find them at the top. They'll stay there because it's already in place. While we countinually have to sell or let assets go we can't achieve that top 6 or thereabouts model of closeness to or actual success that mean people will stay.Saying farewell to assets season after season is counter productive for fans, for marketing the club and for guaranteeing at least being in the mix for trophies.
