I think their efforts have all been involved with low hanging fruit, more or less totally involving the interior of the sport.
RL is a sport that has been increasingly limited in its media reach and representation, and up to this point has appeared as far smaller and less significant a sport than it is and none of that has been changed in the least by IMG's involvement.
Being seen on TV in other countries will achieve nothing if RL doesn't widen its reach and improve the quantity and quality of its coverage in national outlets in the UK.

They have a strategy developed with experience from other sports The strategy gets agreement changes minds and gets all working in the same direction…believe me part of my job was strategic planning in major organisations; tough work…it takes a long time then you can move properly. Fancy trying to get all the RL teams agreeing to change and working together, in one direction, for the good of the sport
Looks like the Club had one of sorts but didn’t achieve its objectives within financial and marketing constraints…we ended up about £1m out last season…players sold etc…its tough work to get it right and you need expertise like IMG to create and achieve

So far all of that is AWOL.

There are lots of changes but Rome wasn’t built in a day And don’t underestimate the things they’ve achieved just taking power from the big 4
Time will tell mate, but let’s be positive

There are lots of changes but Rome wasn’t built in a day And don’t underestimate the things they’ve achieved just taking power from the big 4 Time will tell mate, but let’s be positive I agree that they've galvanised and stripped, to some extent the top 4.
I don't think this means huge change will or can take place as they still vote on anything before it's implemented.
But a direct question JJR, what evidence is there , even small, that RL/SL is gaining better, more quality and quantity coverage in media outlets?
Being positive isn't a problem if there signs of movement on this issue, I just can't find any!

I don't believe that's evidence of a change of any substance so I'll take that as you haven't seen any either.
Sky shows all the matches but many at the same time. The beeb are and always have been ridiculous and useless. In any media watch we are more than ever.
But even given that I hope your belief in in all this ismore accurate than my scepticism.

About the BBC I do think they have treated Rugby League as a filler ever since I started watching in the fifties When union was the old school tie and the 5 nations got the full treatment and it was over to Eddie Waring after the 2 20 at Kempton for us,when they started their own floodlit Trophy we only got the second half untill the final Mind you that was time the newscaster red the 9 pm news in a dinner suit. Its still the old school tie without the union.

They've not only always been poor when it comes to RL they're also indignant if you have the cheek to complain. That's the classic response when you don't know your place and believe you have a voice or opinion that should be heard .

I think the absences of key players for KR is a comforting illusion that SRD needs to ignore.
KR away, on a Friday and as a Cup game is difficult. Remember it was a very weaknesses Robins team that dispatched an on form Salford last season.
So it’s our discipline added to resisting complacency.

I'm glad you put this on here cos I was about to post something similar.
I'm sure I remember numerous occasions where our opponents in the CC have looked like the wheels were falling of and the engine had conked out only for some one game wonder to tear us apart on the day!

Do you ask for your dinner at 10 Russ? Well every game on tv with a video ref might be a start….get yourself a tv Russ😉 In response to every game being televised ... Does the TV money we receive for this cover the loss of gate receipts from those "fans" who prefer to sit at home/in the pub rather than watch live? Does anyone know exactly how much each club gets for a televised game? Premier League football teams don't need crowds to survive as the money Sky/TNT pay to televised games is obscene. Something tells me the Sky/BBC offering for Super League will be absolutely peanuts and won't cover the lost gate receipts if we lose 500 off our home gates.
