Hmmm ..... maybe I'm getting too old to be on here, but there are so few responses about Peter Glynn it astounds me ..... I know that not many posted about Malcolm Alker, and that maybe regarding how his life panned out after RL, but I feel really despondent that so few have posted etc

I was involved with another club at the time and due to John Wilkinson`s powerful persuasion we signed Peter for £2,000.
A huge investment at the time but he repaid the fee in spades.
Class player with a lot of time which is the mark of a good player.
Lovely man and family.
RIP

Though it may just be losing so many recently people feel too sad to even comment.
Peter Glynn was a great signing and player for us, and should be remembered as should all players who played for SRD when they pass.

Abiding memory of Peter we were having an awful season couldn't win for toffee, we travelled to meet a good Castleford team not expecting much, i think we went ahead pretty early and built up a good lead, then Cas responded and were in the lead by a small margin with minutes to go, we got within 20 yards of the Cas line Peter picked up the ball and ran to the short side he either managed to get the ball out or got over the line himself under a melee of Cas players he had to show a lot of guts to get into that position, anyway we managed the win, first win of the season after 12 attempts. Result of that win we hardly lost a match all season after that, Kevin Ashcroft kept his job . Remember a Rugby League publication at the end of the season saying Salford were the best performing Lancashire team in the second half of the season, all down to one mans bravery at one moment in time. RIP Peter Gone but never forgotten.
