Away from Salford what about Doncaster being told there tv gantry and big screen are not fit for purpose by img even though they host challenge cup semi finals there with the same equipment!so let’s not get to worried because for starters the club will get another point straight off with the council deal that’s not been official for the grading so we’re nearly 15 then which is grade a!

What amazes me is the conflict created by …..it seems everybody wants the sport to improve against its progress being measured….theres the start of the process which is taking it forward and everybody moans because parochially we haven’t done too great…probably with justification because of our finances
However look what’s happening in reality…Wakey and Cas getting good finance in and grounds (dumps) being developed, screens in a lot of ground…and we’ll presumably have them soon, social media increasing and everybody looking to press forward to get a Grade A
Yes the criteria aren’t right yet, a few will be cheating but if it gets playing standards towards those of Wigans and grounds moving towards the likes of Leeds…what’s wrong with that…it’s what the sport needs…so just try and look at the positives for once…and we should get 14 good teams into SL…a better product and maybe more TV money and Sponsorship
There was a plan when we gave up the Willows which the likes of Wakey and Cas opted out of…it wasn’t checked and they got away with it…but not this time…inshallah
So try and look at this as moving in the right direction…because left alone with clubs fighting each other as has happened for the past 150 years it won’t change the sport for the better

What amazes me JJR is how often we're told It'll take time and I've yet to see a process like this one that actually targeted the real issues.
Without growing the media coverage all the improvement in how clubs are run will come to nothing.
Also, saying other clubs have good finance in place as code for the show biz break of having an investor is part of why nonsense like this gains traction.

Wouldn’t you think that a club who can sustain themselves without a big backer would at least get a few points or something also some of these clubs would fold if their owners walked away

I Was wondering why Cas were making such a fuss about getting a big screen. Now it's obvious, and if I was sceptical I may say they have learnt how to manipulate the scoring. They would say apply to there advantage, everyone new how it worked.
So once stadium deal finalised new screen and LED on order, grade A+, till they change ctiteria, that's why I am cynical not sceptical.
It's like having a 5 star hotel because all your rooms are ensuite, they may be S***, but as long as they are you score Top marks. Only 2 star if half ensuite and immaculately clean. That's why I think criteria will be tweaked in future, it's been distorted by some ( unscrupulous?) Clubs.

Yes and you can clearly see several things: that although some of these changes were necessary and probably inevitable they might not have happened while clubs have to compete on the field primarily, what IMG have done is change that focus slightly so the RFL changed the SC rules to maintain the status quo, they didn't need to do this because the big clubs' investors would have done that without any help, any criteria will have both business plan problems of teething and one size fits all difficulties, IMG suits the outlook and intentions of elite clubs generally so they'll stick with it till their perceived dead wood is out of the way.
I have asked the same question on here and elsewhere and have yet to get a response let alone an answer: What have IMG done up to the present to increase RL's insulting, condescending, minimal and derisory media footprint?
I guess the truth is nothing otherwise everyone would have rushed to reply!

When the last TV deal was offered I am sure IMG were saying it should be more

IMO I can see how some people might argue the gradings are structurally biased against a quasi supporter owned club like Salford. SRD scores zero for ‘balance sheet strength.’ Now Yes, the club is skint, but it seems to ignore collective indebtness and where monies comes from. Our debt is c. £2m; some of which is 15 years old; whilst Saints lost a million in one year!! It seems Local authority loans (a common agreement on the continent) don’t count. Whilst ‘industrial loans’ from private individuals is ‘investment’ and do count. I wonder how transparent those ‘investments’ are. It’s like the gradings reward a dubious business model of high indebtedness, nurtured by tax avoidance and self serving monies from the local Jonas Chuzzlewits. It’s like the game has not moved on at all from ‘This Sporting Life.’ ]lSecond I question the low score for stadium utilisation. I am sure Wheeldon Road is the keenest venue in the deep Yorkshire wolds for wedding/christening/divorce/prison release parties, but it seems being the base for a number of businesses and the home of the north’s senior RU club counts for little for IMG. As for the LEDs and screens, good grief. Nevertheless plenty to build on. Just have to hope we can ‘win’ the Relegation battle between Hull, Huddersfield and ourselves!!!
