The Board has the responsibility LHR, that’s what they’re there for; new experts have been brought in….having been in the game of generating major funds; its not what you do, it’s the way that you do it mate…

Ps I don’t have an agenda against the Board…but we need more money without continually tapping up,the supporters and it’s not my job

No agenda but continually slag them off!like I said no one is interested in rugby league in Salford no businesses certainly!they have tried and tried meetings group meetings nothing!so what do they do apart from keep trying which they are!as for gerrard you said he was the saviour and without him we would be at moor lane he didn’t even make a bid,the council kept asking he never showed them anything!

There are always backers Russ…you just have to know how to find them There are two things here JJR :
1) Yes they exist but they have to have an interest in RL and SRD in particular, people don't just turn up asking "Right, where do I spend my money!"
2) Because we are now a community owned club people with money, who like control over how it's spent, are far less likely to be interested.
If there are people who can be involved, and you can find them, please do!

Marwan came on board by a chance meeting on a plane but was approached in the right way
Done my bit Russ; spent two years developing with others, had processes, expertise and sponsors available but the Club chose not to use them .
Eventually they did use it partially…the Community Share Offer, but in a luke warm way….everybody thinks getting sponsors, backers etc on board is just a means of asking…took me many years to develop the #kill…starting with Salford Docks/ Quays…believe me there are sponsors etc there but you have to have the skills to bring them on board…and you have to be prepared to relinquish some or all of the control…but hey ho we’ve brought in more expertise on the Board, so we’ll see how things develop
Anyway Russ we move along to another season, looking forward as usual with a positive mindset.

Back to the season review....
I think 7th was about where I expected us to be at the start of the season but with a couple of clubs (Leeds and Huddersfield) below us that I thought would be above, and a couple above (KR & Leigh) doing the opposite.
We had a good enough first half to the season. I think the wheels fell off when we were knocked out of the cup by KR in a game everyone was hopeful of winning and then getting stuffed by Wakefield. Seemed to knock the belief in the team for a while and the close home losses with Refereeing inconsistencies didn't help. Playing catchup after that led to us trying to over play and increasing the error counts.
Summing it up - close but no cigar.

That KR cup game ruined our season. They just weren’t at it that day from the off and we had a massive hangover from it.

I was at a Butlins Weekender and not only did Salford have a shocker I literally spent the weekend sh*tting my pants with some sort of virus.😂 It wasn't only our season that hit the skids that day...
