Owner's Research: Ticket Pricing

The questionnaire is awful to me. It’s so vague Anyway, if cash flow is an issue then potentially do a monthly subscription . Say for example £30 per month which includes season ticket and maybe 1/2 upgrades per season if wanted. I agree. I haven't bothered filling it in. I read it and thought it was very poorly structured and won't provide quality research data. It's looks like something thrown together quickly to include Owner's for the sake of it. It will provide now qualitative data and very poor quantitative data. The club would be far better putting the price ranges of the other 11 clubs into a spreadsheet, in columns that correspond to our tiers (standing, seating, premium seating, dining, concession etc) and with a quick formula they could find the mean, mode, and median values and go from there. This would be far better data to work from. I agree on the subscription, however, people cancel their direct debits after we lose a few games, hence the club want the money in full. Early bird is fine, just don't make it too cheap. Maybe with the early bird we could offer something else as a bonus and keep the price the same as a normal ticket. One idea could be a free Platinum dining meal - how much does it really cost to give a person a two course meal? And it is a marketing strategy as it could tempt them into purchasing Platinum dining in the future. Or a voucher for the e-store, let's say £20. Now that £20 isn't really £20 to the club as they'll be getting a share of the profits so some of that £20 will come back to them, plus whatever extra the person ends up spending on items. I also think 1873 is over priced. It's an extra £21 for a padded seat and access to the bar pre and post match, which seems poor value to me. Another idea could be allow those in the South and West (non-1873) to pay a little extra to gain access to 1873 post (not pre) match so that we keep more fans at the stadium after the game drinking.

Season ticket holder on DD for more years than I care to remember and have never known - outside of tongue in cheek threats - of any other DD ST holder cancelling the mandate after a few L's..? Also don't get this clamour for scrapping the early bird discount and 'it's too cheap!' bandwagonning. None of us know what the next persons breadline is and where too cheap for supporter A becomes too expensive for supporter B. Especially now.

A person's breadline is irrelevant in many ways. My breadline right now is that I can't afford a season ticket and have to be selective about the few games I can attend. It doesn't change the fact that £16 per game is below market value. It also doesn't change the fact that that survey is very poor and wouldn't get past the first vetting stage of a proper research project. To attain reasonable market valuations for tickets the club should look at the market. As I mentioned above, it would be a quick job to add data to a spreadsheet and work out the mean (or other figure) value across the league and place ourselves accordingly. Let's say we have 2,500 ST holders and each pays an extra £2 per game (on average). That would be £64k in revenue. Now, let's say the incentive to purchase early was not a discount of £20/30 but a Platinum dining meal or a £20 voucher for the club shop, neither would be close to £64k, both would increase the chance of additional revenue (maybe they buy dining again and they are likely to spend more than the £20 in the store), and bot provide an incentive for supporters to purchase early. IMO, that would be a better option for the club.

Have to say I disagree with the idea that 1873 is to expensive and I also think the majority will do, I have never seen it as busy as I have this season. You can get in 1 hour before kick off and struggle to get a seat at a table in the lounge.

I'm sure plenty of people think it's reasonable. Personally, a £21 difference to a West stand seat is very poor value. All you get is a padded seat, which makes no difference to me (yes, I've been in there) and access to a different bar pre-game and the same bar post-game with the MoM presentation. For me, that's not worth £21. The club could also benefit from getting non-1873 fans into that bar post game. Plenty of fans go elsewhere for a beer. It's lost revenue. An option to upgrade for post-game access could be a potential revenue stream. Here's another poor value offer from the club... Numerous people have posted this je out and I don't now how anybody thought it was a good idea: salfordreddevils.net/enjoy-the-tunnel-club-experience-with-salford-red-devils/Pay a fair whack as a pair of group and ONE of you gets to go to the changing rooms. Ridiculous. Four people could shell out £190 each (for little -value above the normal platinum meal - certainly not £190 worth - and then one gets to go to the changing room for the team song). I don't know how something like this gets past the initial idea stage.

Need to open the East Stand, say as a family stand, and get some atmosphere in there, with sponsorship for the kids, it really is depressing thing looking at that empty part of the Stadium

Somewhere for a drink post-match would be great. Barley Farm service is dreadful and you could be waiting 20 mins for a pint. A few seasons back there was the bar on the ground floor of West Stand (near where the Supporters Trust have their table) which was then taken up by commercial units.
I've no idea where we're at with regards negotiating getting our hands on income from match day food/drink sales but keeping non-1873 members on site could generate a few grand each match easily.
Even those who park at the ground might be tempted into staying for a coffee instead of sitting queuing for half an hour to leave the car park!
Anything that would bring back a bit of the old Willows vault/variety club pre/post match atmosphere would be great.👍

I don't know how something like this gets past the initial idea stage. Personally the offering has improved massively and as I said the uptake from fans seems to support that idea. Along with the padded seat, you get a much better view. You then have a decent choice when it comes to beverages and further more a much better choice of meal all served to your table. You them get man of the match interviews. Then the ability to sit in the lounge pre and post game inc half time. Decent value for money for me
