Good session this morning. Main takeaways were that Rowley knew Dupree was being sold. The club were not actively looking to offload Tyler but Wigans offer was way too good to refuse plus they are paying Singletons Wages for the rest of 2023. The Croft NRL buy clause is much more than the 78k reported. Two NRL Teams have met the valuation but Croft has turned both down staying at Salford. Nothing was mentioned of Rowley and Wire, it is paper talk. We are looking to bring in one more player today if Rowley agrees to it. The full session will be available on RDTV. I agree it was a reassuring meeting that hopefully will allay any fears that the fans have about the running of the club. I was really impressed with the plans in place and the vision that the club has for building future revenue streams. Let’s leave the club to get on running a growing business and concentrate on convincing friends and family to join us the rest of the season. 👹

On top of Right agreeing this is much more like it, for mine.

What is the financial position?

JJR the opposite of great financial numbers is not "nice words" and I really don't think any sports club has great financial numbers at present, if ever come to that!
Even soccer with all it's millions is up to it's eyeballs in debt.

It was reported on here R that we struggled to pay the players early in the season; we have the smallest squad in SL, we have a Quota spot and then we have statements as above.
So a valid question as a shareholder is…where are we now financially?
Broad brush statements like MU in debt so it’s normal seem a bit pointless R

Yes that is a valid question and particularly for/from a shareholder.
It's far from just MU in debt JJR.
Something stated on here is a bit questionable though.

Except the things you say Russ😉
It always seems nice words, nice ideas but what what really counts are facts..I was wondering what the financial situation is as lots of people have invested lots of money, we can see the outline accounts which don’t show a great position or give detail, we read about the Council lending us money but we never hear factually about the financial health of the Club and the Strat Plan to create wealth…yes everyone has lots of nice ideas but….reality?

What is the financial position? I thought you’d be there as a fellow owner John. There are number of pots of cash that, as a CBS, we can access with some bid writing support. The council want to partner with the club and make us a ‘Rugby League’ city delivering programmes across the schools and community hubs. There will be £1m of funding provided that some of which will be invested in a development team. There is a possibility of working with the Co-op on accessing some community funding upto £100k. The levelling up fund max payout has doubled to £2m and the council will dedicate some of their team to help us maximise the amount we can claim. On the commercial side we have a Chief Commercial Officer who is heading up that team and more investment in improving our digital marketing presence. The club have aligned the sub committee (each headed up by a Board member) and I’ve put myself forward to support the commercial team. I found the whole morning very worthwhile and i felt enthused about the possibilities for the club. We need to move on from the doomsdayers and celebrate what promises to be a golden era for the club

Per match profit up to 50k per game the last few home games. Attendances grew by 23% in 2022 and are up 17% on 2022 in 2023. Thanks to JJR and Derek in platinum dinning. 😃

Golf called
It’s not about doomsayers, it’s about a reality check, openness and honesty Pete…so where are we financially…it shouldn’t be a closed shop…nor is it about hype. Committees are ok but it’s about quality not quantity. I was in fact really disappointed that only just over £300 k was raised from about 1200 donors..it was seen as 6000 donors when assessed by the pros
Soft funding is ok but we can’t rely on that and I hope the commercial manager is better than the last two who lasted days
Still hey ho we carry on without facts and in hope.
Glad you enjoyed it mate

Good luck with that, JJR

Glad you enjoyed it mate It’s a 5 year plan John so the balance sheet will improve over that period assuming we hit the projections. You can’t judge them in year one but the key metrics are moving in the right direction. Facts….Crowds up, commercial revenue from sponsors up, top 7 position in the league and an experienced board of directors with specialist skill sets. Plenty more to come

I hope that most of the nonsense posted on this site might settle down.
I do not know any of you but assume most are over 30. Therefore you should be aware that in Superleague clubs with smaller resources do well to back up the following season. The comments on this site are insulting to the club, the Coach, admistators players and those of us who support our team.
Supporting SRD is not for you and maybe you should all go elsewhere rather than spout your continuing drivel.
