What I can’t understand about the advertising is that it seems all about Armed Forces Day, important yes, but aren’t the main things Local derby Top four fight It’s Wigan ie about the Rugby that causes me to want to go, or am I missing the point🙃 It is not a Derby, Leigh and Saints are closer to Wigan. The Armed Forces Day is by far the best experience for new fans to enjoy as part of our season. The marketing is aimed at attracting new fans, not those that come week in. The VT also has highlights on it promoting the day. Hope we get a massive crowd in for this, the entertainment on offer is better than last years event. Need a big crowd to then ensure we get loads in for the games v Lancs teams. I am bringing another 6 with me.

I’m lost I can’t think of many wanting to come and see the Armed Forces but we differ…re derby, maybe a better word needed ( although cf what who we have been playing at home it’s a derby) but for me the highlight of the season when I went with my old fella was the Wigan home match That seems to be irrelevant and there is a fringe audience that can be attracted to big matches by pushing that

The club are doing their level best to make this a day out for all of the family where the rugby is the feature event of the day. We need to attract a broader audience, reach the parts of the community we have not reached before and the Armed Forces appreciation day is just that sort of occasion.

I agree Pete to some extent but there is a good fringe audience that comes to matches; to me the match of the season so far and it seems inconsequential in the ads
Perhaps Armed Forces Day, Family Fun Day and Wigan match should be 3 separate occasions…you’re a marketing man…no confused messages

The fact it this season SL clubs have upped their game when it comes to the match day experience and this is our best effort so far and therefore the club need to be applauded not criticised. I’d rather you spend your time convincing a few non-match going mates to join you in the 1873 or even better in Platinum Dining as that’s where I’ll be with 3 first timers 👹

Platinum dining last match and brought 4 guys the match before….I’ll nearly be as good as you in a few years time😉
Think you’re missing the point Pete but we’re all different. The people I bring wouldn’t be interested in the Armed Vorces but would love Salford v Wigan

Now we're all aware that RL fans will start an argument with the rest of the crowd in the straight jacket but now again I think it's far worse than that. We all aware that alot of the "day out" concept is one of the aims of IMG so that more people will be attracted to the game. But even IMG don't say focus only on the day out and forget to mention the main purpose and event. Not saying where you think the club can improve because they're doing their best is frankly not good enough, it's C+ for effort at best. If you examine the U S attempts at this front and center is the game and that match in particular the game day experience is a guarantee but never takes center stage.
And we shouldn't really be having an argument like this because we all want what's best for SRD.

The people I bring wouldn’t be interested in the Armed Vorces but would love Salford v Wigan For me any Armed forces or special matches are about recongising and being grateful to service personel for what they do and it's also a type of inclusivity and spreading the word. It does provide a marketable focus but also strengthens links with people who play the sport.
For me though the main focus should always be "Come and see SRD and Kallum scorch the Warriors!"
