I'm wondering what people think regarding this. For me, I think that season tickets provide good value against single matchdays tickets anyway so I would do away with the early bird pricing. I don't think knocking £20 off the season ticket price is the deal breaker for fans to buy their season tickets.
I don't know the numbers - how many season tickets we've sold, or how many were early bird purchases so I'll make some assumptions.
Rosler said last night, while referring to something else that 2,700 was roughly our number of season ticket holders. Let's lower that to 2,500 and assume that 50% of these are purchased early.
1,250 tickets at £20 is £25,000 - not a huge sum but it is still 2.5% of our £1 million target, surely not to be sniffed at?
Is that £20 saving a game changer for you? Would you not purchase a season ticket if there was no early bird offer?

It’s not necessarily about the discount but it’s more about cashflow for the club. After the season ends there is literally no funds coming into the club apart from fans renewing STs and mopping up merchandise and sponsorship funds. The club will use this revenue to pay salaries that still need to be covered during the close season.

Id be happy with a monthly direct debit each month of say £25 all year around that guarantees entry to all home games (Cup included).

I understand the cash flow aspect and we obviously need to make more as a club in the peak times of the year, and have other things going on, so that we have the cash to see us through the off-peak times.
But my question is, does that £20 saving really matter to the fans who are buying early, or would they buy early anyway? I'd imagine those buying early are the hardcore fans who are buying a ticket no matter what. Those who are waiting either need to save up the funds post Christmas/going on holiday etc, in which case they discount doesn't matter, or they are waiting to see what happens to the squad, which again means the discount doesn't matter. Maybe the discount does matter to people and influence their decision.

How many can there be in a season? 6th, QF and SF, I think? So a maximum of three, possibility of none. So add £30 to the price and include cup games.

It’d be interesting to see that analysis and I’m sure it’ll be discussed tomorrow at your meeting
