Salford Slim mention St. Pauli FC on the shares thread. I looked them up and ready this.
Read this: St. Pauli opens its home matches with "Hells Bells" by AC/DC, and after every home goal "Song 2" by Blur is played.
it got me thinking that we could do with some identity like this. A songs that plays before entry that the fans can get behind. Sowmthihg else for when we score a try. Something that can be played during a little break in play when the game is a bit flat to gee up the crowd and players.
What do you think could work? I had a little think and a few obvious ones came to mind (note, I'm not big on music knowledge so my ideas are very limited π€£π€£):
Pre-game/ready to enter: We Will Rock You chorus (Queen) Eye of the Tiger intro (Survivor)
After a try/penalty kick: Don't Stop Me Now (we're having a good time) chorus (Queen). Or a simple piece of music like when we used to have the Viking music back on the 90s.
End of the game: If we win start with the chorus of Another Bites the Dust chorus (Queen) followed by another song that we play win or lose but is a good gee up song to leave the ground on a high.

Maybe something like Living on a Prayer (Bon Jovi). I used to like you BDB until you suggested Queen & Survivor!π (I have nothing against either btw but not sure on them for match day music). I could be wrong (and someone please put me right on this) but I'm sure back in our Willows dayswe came out to "Pounding" by The Doves for a while? youtu.be/Leg3uiu0g1cBanging tune that one and would love to see it rear it's head again. Or thinking about it again, it may have been "Black & White Town" I'm thinking about....π€ youtu.be/7sX4K0JRIDMI agree that we need to try and get away from Sloop John B (the "Der Der Der Der Der" song all fans sing after a try/goal etc. Edit: It's defo Black & White Town we played, unless I'm going (even more) mad.

Music stuff is quite divisive.
Imagine the tune you hated the most being played continually, even in small bites, multiple times per match. We want people in the gates not the other way around. Plus, if the club wants youngsters for the future would you be happy listening to snippets of Drake, Lewis Capaldi, and Miley Cyrus all match?
Probably best leaving the tunes alone imo.

Nah the music is a massive part and needs to be debated. Its what gets a crowd pumped up before a match. But I do agree BDB that you have other areas which are your strength, music taste may not be one

I did say I know nothing about music... but I do like a good Queen singalong - they have some great choruses, and I like the intro music to Eye of the Tiger (though I'm more of a Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash type of person). Some other music intros I love are All My Life by Foo fighters and Pinball Wizard by The Who. It's corny for a lot of people for sure, but it can create a bit of togetherness and fun (including for youngsters - like under 12s before they get all grumpy and think anything older than 5 years is rubbish) ... and a lot of people follow a crowd - you play a chorus of a song everyone knows and a lot of people will join in (even the teens)... I never sing unless I'm pissed, but people will. Carnster makes a great point though. A piece of music could be good, just a simple tune... like in the darts, love it or hate it, and it can be super annoying, but when you are in it, it works. When I'm working on things at home I often put wordless music on, I tend to like Vikings/Nordic type stuff, or I play music from movies and computer games. It's the instrumental that I really like.

The kids of today need educating Carnster with their music tastesπ... sooooo much dross out there and as a child of the 80's/90's we were definitely spoilt. As a ST holder at a certain other professional sports club in Salfordπ³ the announcer Andy does a pretty good job with his matchday playlists IMO. But then again he's a bit of an Indie boy so I would say that!

πππ Bloody autocorrect!
I've never seen them live, but have seen some shows of them live and they look awesome. And I've watched them via a VR headset which makes it look like you are right on the stage. Loads of great tracks at a variety of paces from Aurora to Monkey Wrench π
