That’s 500 investors up.
I hope that the club goes hard on the publicity and socials today. We need businesses to invest now.

The City Mayor is behind us "Oh no, he isn't! "
Great news that!
But did he purchase one?

I am going to get sharing this, as has been said numerous times we need a push on businesses now. I am going to ask the club for a LinkedIn post for the event on 23rd May. It has been posted on Facebook and Twitter. The last 3 days the funds being raised have slowed down, we do better generating investors when we have Media attention.

Good to see quotes from the Supporters Trust and Salford Red Devils on email content;
Paul King, Managing Director of Salford Red Devils said:
“We’re delighted to reach this special milestone and are excited to see where we can go from here. This is a significant moment in the campaign – with over 500 people supporting our efforts to become the first elite rugby league club to be community owned.
“Despite this, we are seeing a slight decline in pledges per day, so we’re very keen to turn that around. Our win against Leeds Rhinos saw a spike in pledges – so thank you to those who have supported us so far.
“For us to reach our upper targets, the support of businesses is almost certainly a necessity, so we’d encourage any such individuals to come and get involved, have a conversation with us, and pull together as one Salford.”
Head coach, Paul Rowley, also spoke to the efforts of those involved already as well as to the importance of businesses getting involved ahead of our victory against Leeds Rhinos.
“It doesn’t surprise me one bit with the supporters. They use the line ‘give us your heart and we’ll give you ours’…and that’s just another example of that.
“What we need now is the businesses to come forward and really knock the ball out of the park. This club can then not only sustain where we are at, but move forward and progress and invest in the infrastructure of the club, in turn generating more income.
“It means so much to so many people and it doesn’t go amiss with myself, the coaches, and with the players so we’re really humbled by it.”

If I were the club though I'd want them to pay direct and not via Crowdfunder. With transaction and platforms fees, it works out around 9%, if I understand them correctly. Great to see the club putting an event on. I've registered. The performances on the pitch and what we have shown over the past few years has been remarkable and something people should want to rally around. I'm looking forward to seeing the club's pitch at the event. And learn more about our aspirations. We obviously need to keep momentum going post the initial Crowdfunder. Easy enough to do via the website, so I sent the club a few ideas. " 1) Allow purchase of shares directly from the website (the club will only be charged 1.4% + 20p with Woo Payments). 2) Enable people to purchase a £100 share via a monthly subscription of £10 for 10 months - after the payment processing fee, the club will still receive £9.66 a month for a total of £96.60. This could also be done for £250 and £1,000 shares but with a higher monthly fee or over a longer duration. 3) Set up the ability for owners or anyone to donate to the club, monthly or yearly if they want to,.via a subscription. This can all be automated (payments, reminder emails, the ability for people to switch donation tiers or cancel, etc), and you can easily pull data down into a spreadsheet. "

Good post BDB, the reality with most Crowdfunding initiatives that to proceed you need to hit the initial target set, 250k in this case which leaves us 25 days to raise 111k. We must be relentless in spreading the word, sharing content and social media and being cheeky- the answers a yes or no to the proposition.
I have asked the club for more LinkedIn content and also to push Channel 4 for coverage hence me contacting them. This is in our hands to raise the profile of the cause. 25 Days to make a difference plus get businesses involved.

Excellent MTR. I hope C4 give us some voice time on Saturday. We need RL broadcasters to get behind what we are doing. This isn't just about us, it's about sustainability in sport. We've seen failures in RU and Football at high levels. There are clubs in SL right now who would be in real trouble if their benefactors pulled the plug. Sport in the UK, in general, is constantly living beyond its means and it'll collapse at some point.

I’m sure that the club are reaching out to their many business contacts as we speak but they have limited resources to go a much wider audience with that personal contact. You can tweet all you like but it’s the phone call, the meeting or the emails that makes the difference.
However we now have 500+ co-owners who can act an advocates for the club and sell the vision to friends, family and their employers. We have to rid this idea that it’s solely down to the club to market itself as it plainly not going to happen that way. We, the fans, are in the prime space to do that marketing for them and if we can’t convince a friend, a family member or a colleague to come and support us when we’re 5th in the league and playing the best rugby in years then we are the problem not the club. Of course when the big games come along then the fans appear from no where (18k reportedly at OT in ‘19) but if we’re going to thrive we have to get to 6k crowds as a minimum and that only break even. Beyond that then we make money to reinvest in the squad.
It’s time to wake up to reality, we either want a SL club challenging for honours or we wither and die. What’s it going to be?

I have just sent it to Steven Bartlett (Dragons Den) on LinkedIn - long shot! Fantastic, I have asked the club for specific LinkedIn content which is needed to focus upon business. Every post helps.
