Lots of posts over the last few days regarding how bad the finances at the club are at the moment. Is it time for those who are trying their hardest to keep the club running to give us the true facts and figures? This is in no way a criticism of the work that has been done by everyone at club. I for one am very grateful to the efforts of those people who day in day out take on the stress of trying keep this great club running.
I just wonder it’s time for a “call to arms” for this great club? Let’s get all those who want to help involved. We have great forums, supporters and support groups at this club who are willing to help, so let’s get proactive.

Yes, despite crowds being up last year, ok ST Sales and with at least 100k off of our payroll in players we are still lacking funds. Granted we have had opening games against teams who bring very few supporters with them. We need the likes of Wigan/Saints/Leeds/Wire at home to benefit from bigger crowds. The stadium thread is a moving target but with the promise of more funds incoming. Some cadence from the club is needed. I think a lot of emphasis is on the fan token launch but we all very much want to help collectively via the Supporters Trust. Paul King does an unbelievable job full time as our MD/Exec supported by Paul Trainor the Commercial Director, it is a case of how can we help at scale and what is the actual state of the nation? Re finances, stadium update and the clubs priorities.

They don't seem to want help even when it's free the website is trash but I assume that it's a case of 'jobs for the boys'. No company should have put that 'live'. I gave them the feedback which they acknowledged and said they've used it in discussing with Mosaic (somewhat positive). But, I built them a far better site in a couple of days that I offered them for free... even said they can give it to Mosaic and I gave them the 250 lines of custom code I added. I also said I would license them the theme for free ($149) and I have other plugins that could make the site better that I would also give them for free. Though, for the mock-up site I only used free plugins. They said they are confident Mosaic will have it all sorted soon... it's been a couple of weeks and, from 21 pages of feedback, all I can see is that they've added a cookie notice with text that you can't even read wtf! Literally, a couple of days work from scratch and if they took me up on my offer I could export the site and upload it to Mosaic in 15 minutes and they could upload it in 15 more, done, sorted!. They'd just need to copy the content over (which is a case of exporting posts/pages and importing them). Some companies are stealing a living, their own website is poor, especially on mobile. And they're not the only one. I've been checking other sites as I'm preparing blog articles. It really is shocking out there. And, I bet the club are paying over the odds for hosting and maintenance (which they shouldn't need on a well-built WordPress site).
johnr218.sg-host.com is where I've moved the site as a temp

Yea, I was going to message again a couple of days ago and thought better of it. Paul King didn't even email me back at all. I noticed the other day that the club used MailChimp for their newsletter. MailChimp are well-known and I'm sure they've been advised by Mosaic to go with them. People often recommend what they know and not what's best.
There are a lot of options. If you use Sender you can have 2,500 free and send up to 15,000 emails a month with no daily limit, all free. That's far more than others. Typically, it's 500 or 1,000 free contacts. MailChimp is 500. And you have a lower monthly email allowance, MailChimp (free) is 1,000 per month. Those that offer more usually place a daily limit such as 300. Sender doesn't. So, if Salford have fewer than 2,500 contacts, Sender is a better bet by far. Because for 2,500 contacts MailChimp is £32 per MONTH.
Also, do Salford cull their list so they aren't paying for people who never open the emails? You can see who hasn't opened them, so if a person hasn't opened an email for 6, 12 months, whatever you decide. Cull them.
Now, if you're looking at more than 2,500 contacts you'll have to pay. Sender charges £15 a month for 5,000 contacts, MailChimp charge £56!! However, there is SendFox which charges a one-off payment of $49, so £40, for 5,000 contacts, unlimited doaly emails, unlimited monthly emails... much better than £15 or £56 a month. What if you go higher? Well, SendFox allows you to purchase that plan up to five times, so you can have up to 25,000 contacts for a maximum charge of $245, so around £200. Now, Salford will never have 25k subscribers, but for comparison, MailChimp charge £211 per month for than and Sender is £65 per month.
