You have to work to deserve the win and early on we didn’t we scored and then stupid offloads again
The ref…beyond me ….made Jack Smith look good
BUT last season we’d have lost that match…another 2pts and 4th…happy with that..,and Sneyd settled the game down in the 2nd half

Sorry JJR I'm not having the ref one- we were absolutely shocking, nothing from the forwards to move us downfield, poor passing from acting half, bombed the only try we made a chance for. Huge improvement needed next week otherwise we will be on the end of a drubbing.

C we were shocking but for me the ref was dire, but when we were shocking Sneyd took charge 5 barges and a punt to play position rugby.
I think next week I’d playAtkin on the bench Watkins at centre , Costello on the wing ; sadly Williams had his worst game ever for us… but we won and live to fight another day

That's as poor game of rugby as I've seen for a long time. We were shocking. We had a lot of ball in good territory and made poor decision or error after poor decision or error. I think we went in with the wrong attitude and can't believe we got a win. We've used up a season of luck today. It seems we turn up when we're not expected to win, when the pressure is off... that might be good against Wigan but if we play like today it'll be like going back to the early 90s and we'll get hammered.
I couldn't see from the South stand but does anyone know why the ref blew up after their full back knocked on and Wright (I think) picked it up and went under the sticks. From where I was it looked like a knock-on and we recovered it first so it should be play on.

Didn’t understand many decisions by the ref today Black Dragon. I’m not sure if a Wakefield player interferes with a salford chaser so was off side but that should have been a penalty. I don’t think an onside Wakefield player touched the ball after the fullback knocked on so looked like it should have been play on. Would need to see it again to be sure though.
Thought we dominated most of the game today and should have won more comfortably. But we ground it out and got the win. We seem to be having another season like 2019 when we’re better away from home. If it ends as well i’ll be happy.
Thought Costello was very good today. He’s no Lafai (not many are!) but did a good job

I think that the ref just blew for the knock on before seeing if there was any advantage. Once he had blown the whistle for a knock on, he couldn’t retract it.

From where I was it looked like a knock-on and we recovered it first so it should be play on.It was right in front of me and the ref blew straightaway without giving us any chance of an advantage. He was appalling today, way out of his depth. Wakefield's first Try was a mile forward, so much so, that I wasn't concerned it would be given. When he gave it I couldn't believe it because the Touch Judge was right in line just like I was. The second try also looked a mile forward but that was on the far side. Another blinder, was penalising for an incorrect play the ball in the 80th minute just after Sneyd dropped a goal. Shades of a certain Challenge Cup final from a couple of years ago. Every 50 / 50 went Wakefield's way today That doesn't take away from the fact that we were very poor today. I don't think we broke the line in the second half and the error count was nearly as bad as the Hull KR game. In the end we got the 2 points because the team dug very deep today. That at least should be applauded

Wakefield made a real go at it and it almost paid off for them but at times we seemed to be all at sea with our game plan etc, hopefully this can be sorted out for next week thereafter.
I thought Adam Sidlow did very well today.

Marcus GRIFFITHS the ref; apparently he blew as soon as Wakey dropped the ball which stopped the Wright try and he gave his first incorrect ptb to wipe out a Sneyd drop kick
BDB for your next quiz type offerings it might be worth us awarding points on referees performance and maybe players performances for that matter…..don’t think we’ll have many in this weeks Team of the Week

Not much to say that already hasn't been said TBH as we were pretty dire but we got the 2 points! We won't play worse than that all season so I really fear for Wakey's chances of staying up. I know they've got a lot out at the minute and they can only hope that some of those return swift and make a big difference.
Apparently we had a couple playing injured/ill (Brodie) yesterday so fair play to those lads who obviously would've been rested had we not had so many already out.
Finally, and I hate doing this, Marcus Griffiths was absolutely appalling yesterday. Some of his decisions were baffling and blowing up straight after Kay fumbled the bomb which Wright picked up and "scored" from was unforgivable (I'm sure Child did the same last season and cost us a try). Hopefully IMG have refereeing standards on their "list" and that we can find some cash to plough into some decent training/officials. Having said that, we shouldn't have let the officials have a say in the game by putting a decent performance in ourselves and taking them out of the equation.
Let's hope we get a couple of bodies back for Wigan and we can get back to somewhere near the level of performance we put in at Hull because a repeat of yesterday will result in a bit of a hiding.

In the presentation I think it was mentioned that Sneyd was playing* with an injury but will be ok for Wigan.
6-0 up, we must learn to consolidate for 20 mins, put the pressure on the opposition and not have 2nd rowers passing 20m along the line in the in goal area. But Sneyd played Watsonball for the 2nd half and won us 2pts in a game we’d have lost last season; a maturing team performance in the end. Hope that sounds a bit positive.

Like many others have already said "a win is a win" but if we play like that against Wigan on Friday I think we'll get tonked.
I guess you could argue that it's the hallmark of a good team if you can grind out results without playing at your best. I did expect us to hammer Wakefield yesterday but we were below-par and perhaps a bit complacent after beating Hull so convincingly the week before?
To be fair we have been fantastic to watch under Rowley for the vast majority of games so hopefully yesterday was a one-off.

Against wigan we won't expect to win just like hull away, yesterday we was expected to win, it puts a different mindset in a players mind, plus away at Wigan always a big game won there on the run to the GF so why not again on Fri
