I'm still hoping to get over for the game. I understand why people would want to save some cash and a large chunk of their weekend time and don't blame them one bit but I just feel the need to be there to give the lads some support. With all the injuries we're up against it so a few loud Salford fans will hopefully give the lads a boost.👹
Think it'll be a low turnout from us with it being Saturday 3pm ko and with footy clashes etc. It now being on OurLeague will impact travelling numbers even more.

Utd aren't playing Saturday and City are in London, so the football shouldn't be an excuse.

Clashes with opening weekend of open age amateur rugby league in the north west Or does the opening weekend of Amateur RL in the North West clash with Superleague. This season is the 27th year of SL If they, BARLA cant find more suitable dates to start the season Then they never will.

Historically, I don't remember professional games being played on a Saturday unless it's for TV, which this isn't, so why Hull have selected to play on a Saturday I have no idea. For me I used to watch amateur RL on a Saturday then Salford on a Sunday back in The Willows days. A lot of teams choose to play on a Friday now, which I understand, but Saturday?

It depends what you mean by "historically". I well remember the RL scores being given out after the football ones on Grandstand, which aired on Saturdays. However, that all changed sometime in the 70s (I think). Now, most teams play on either Friday or Sunday, except Catalans who tend to play on Saturday. I agree that this fixture is an 'outlier' and I don't understand why, unless there is a clash with Hull City.

I was only born in 1984 😂😂 I remember watching Eccles, Irlam, both Leigh team, St Pats, St Judes and others on a Sat then Salford on a Sunday. But, certainly in the SL era I only remember pro games on a Fri/Sun and amateur games in a Sat. Though, my point was more that, it isn't up to BARLA or the NWC League to not play games on a Saturday because Salford might have a game.

It's being played on Saturday as Hull are at St Helens the following Friday, I assume they want a extra days recovery time. Doubt it'll make any difference as I suspect Saints will hammer them live on Skysports.

If they want extra rest before they play Saints, why not play the game on the Friday? It does seem odd. I'm not complaining - I can't get to it from Crete anyway - but it does seem strange.
