According to Lam, his son and their star hooker only arrived in the UK a couple of weeks ago, but they’re likely to not have any injuries
We should have
Dupree, King, Stone, Wright, Hellewell, Partington, Watkins, Ackers, Greenwood, Bourouh Gerrard, Longstaff, Atkin as a minimum ready for the pack…so being able to not play 3 of those isn’t bad
Assuming Sio and Burgess should be fit but if not Longstaff Williams Costello Watkins are available for roles in the backs.
Anything more out about Sarginson…all seems v odd….if he doesn’t want to play move him on

After Sundays poor showing we need to work on our defence and hope Sidlow is fit. On paper we start the year playing less fancied teams, these games must be won, the squad has been together now longer than most so a solid start is a must. One thing is for sure if we do not improve on the Wigan game we will not turn Leigh over.

I've not seen anything in Leighs starting lineup that should worry us. Yes there pack maybe bigger, but we don't play to that, we play to our strength which I see as our backs. I think the mentality of the team is good, I mean the win at Cas last year underlined the steeliness of the team so I've no fear of going the the LSV. I'm looking forward to it  scratch that, I can't wait |

I don't think Wigan was as bad as some are making out. Yes we need to tighten up defensively and Field & French caused us all manner of problems (as did Cust TBF) but Leigh aren't Wigan. Wigan will be challenging for the LLS and Leigh will do well to finish outside the bottom 2.
We'll have a couple of bodies back and what better time to put right our LSV hoodoo than their first game back in the big time with all the hullabaloo that has surrounded them, the rebrand, Degsy's big mouth claims etc.
Despite only scoring one try at Wigan we created plenty of opportunities and should've had at least 2 or 3 more. I don't recall Wigan bombing anything TBH as they were pretty clinical and a couple of their tries had a fair bit of luck involved.
Let's get down there in numbers and create a hell of an atmosphere and come 10pm we'll all be heading back down the East Lancs with big grins on our faces and 2 points.👍

He’s not played his full team yet as he’s been giving everyone a run….but the good thing is that mostly they’ve played together for a season…backs should be fine…forwards stronger than last year with Partington Stone etc coming in
I suppose it depends on fitness of the wingers, Sidlow/ Ormondroyd Watkins, but a pack of
King Ackers Dupree
Stone Watkins/Wright
Partington
Atkin, Longstaff, Gerrard, Wright/ Hellewell/Greenwood
Shouldn’t be too far off; just a pity Sarge not available to add strength to the backs

Our Left edge of Longstaff / Lafai / Williams was the problem defensively, much of Wigan's attack went down their right. Does anyone know who is injured? Assume Sarge is still out with this illness? Burgess and Sio?? Olymondroyd did very few minutes and hurt his hand v Wigan, I know that Sidlow had a hamstring niggle and was looking to be fit for the Leigh game. Dixon got a knock against Swinton. With the wingers back and a pack of Sidlow / Ackers / Olmondroyd / Watkins / Stone / Partington I am more optimistic especially if we have Dupree / King coming on. |
