Thought the spine looked sharp yesterday which is very encouraging. My concern is the number of Props we have - Jack took a knock, Sidlow is recovering from an injury which leaves us with Gerrard/Dupree/King at Prop. Looking at the options yesterday Greenwood was at 2nd row - another option at Prop would be welcomed. Thought Bourouh looked busy and Longstaff looks a handful. The Reserves did ok, some of these lads are 6th form so a big step up. Really hope Stephens or Hughes can kick on this year and provide more options at half back. I agree it’s clear we have little depth in the pack. Really need ormondroyd,king,dupree and sidlow to stay fit or we could struggle. |

Wright played a few games at prop last year and Rowley praising Gerrard and Partington saying they’ll be in the 13 role. But yes we had 3 fillers last year Burke, Luckely, Sita who’ve gone and Lannon injured as well. Three weeks to get Ormondroyd and Sidlow fit Heard yesterday Sarge in dispute with the Club and Stevens wore his 23 jersey. Anybody know what’s happened? Hope this is not true JJR and clearly it is purely speculation. Last the club said was that Sarge was ill and his return was indefinite meaning the timeline on his return was unknown, that was a couple of weeks back. |

How Come Brierly played ? I thought he was injured and was going to miss the first few games of the season ?

This may have been metioned did the American play? No, he wasn’t insured so the RFL refused permission for Riordan to play even a cameo role in Sunday. As I mentioned earlier he wasn’t familiar with the routines etc it wouldn’t even be fair to play him anyway. Some lessons to be learnt following the week’s visit which we can apply for future visits👍 |
