We’re not too bad in the pack however they’re arranged and with a quota spot available when we get some money; a good start to the season and with players who can play different positions in the pack. Wright and Hellewell might make props as they progress just as Watkins shone in the 2nd row
Sidlow Ackers Ormondroyd Watkins Stone Partington
King Bourou Dupree Greenwood Longstaff Gerrard
Lannon Atkin Wright Dixon Hellewell Addy

Not a chance Wright and Hellewell are Props, we have 5 the rest 2nd row or loose forwards.

You disagree with Rowley, he’s played Wright at prop; coming on after first grunt speed as well as size often important Like sometime when he plays Atkin as a 13 Modern Rowleyball

Wright is not a Prop forward. On slower pitches we will be hammered down the middle like last week v Wigan. You at some point have to play to the conditions also. I'd loan out a couple of 2nd rowers and get a Prop in.

Possibly but Burke and Sita hardly played and Wright and Greenwood are about the same size as those two without mentioning Partington Gerrard and Lannon if Wright or Addy play 13
I understand what you’re saying about quality and Saints have better quality but I don’t think many more props unless you count their 19 year olds
Be interesting to see how Rowley juggles as apparently he said he needs an extra back as opposed to a prop

I think we really need someone who can drive their legs, like another King, or someone in the mould of Ikahihifo who takes a lot of energy to stop and bring down.
We were really lucky with injuries last year. I know King was out for a while but besides that we stayed pretty healthy in our starters (forwards). Greenwood's injury history worries me.
I also don't think it purely comes down to size, lots of SR/LF players are big enough to play prop. So are some C and W. Mentality also comes into it and the natural way you play the game.
Sidenote when talking about contacts, the next 2/3 seasons a huge for our ambitions to win silverware. I know we've tied Brodie down, though I doubt he plays more than three years if he keeps playing the way he has, then allure and money in the NRL is much higher. A lot of our key players, especially in the backs are over 30: Brierley, Sio, Lafai, Sneyd, plus Watkins and Jack O in the forwards as key starters. But also, Greenwood, Addy, Gerrard, Sidlow, Dixon, Williams, and Hallewell. The vast majority are 31+

One of the other issues is that a lot of contracts are up at the end of this season
When looking at forwards tho, don’t discount Sidlow, big strong, go forward, hard to handle prop.

I'd say Sidlow, Jack Olmondroyd, King, Dupree and Gerrard are our recognised Props that is it. The pack ranking is fair based on the lack of specialist Props - we are 2nd Row heavy this year.

I was underwhelmed when signed Sidlow but I know realise he is exactly what we need, him plus one more. Still wished Sam Luckley had stayed - we've too many 2nd Row options.

I don't discount Sidlow as such but it does worry me that he is one of our main 4 props. Yes he's a big guy but he's spent most of his career outside of SL. I'd much prefer him as an experience 5th/6th guy. Our recruitment has puzzled me somewhat though. 3 props out and one in. We also, as I mentioned above, haven't strengthened the backline options, yet several have been snapped up from the Championship by other clubs, in fact, with Livett going, we are much weaker. Williams is the only W, Sarge the only quality C. Outside of that only Costello comes to mind.

You're not classing Livett as a Centre are you BDB? Yeah he did a job for us there when needed but he's a 2R every day of the week. Kallum or Longstaff can provide that Centre cover when required.

No, But he was better cover than Costello as a C. We had him and Kallum last year and it meant we didn't have to move Kallum, which I don't want us to do. He's outstanding at SR. I don't think I've seen Longstaff play C but I'm sure he could. Still, I think we are short a three-quarter... there must be one in the Championship. Williams is 33 which surprised me and I think he's lost a beat over the past 12 months.
