I had to go back to this point, "That kit is an abomination (though slightly less offensive than the Jaguar anus oneš) and the whole of the RL world is laughing at Degsy. When 95% of Leythers are in agreement with oppo fans then you know they've got it badly wrong." First of all I doubt the whole of RL World is laughing. Secondly I'm not so it's not 100% Thirdly even if everyone but me did think this was rubbish I wouldn't change my mind. This is partly because I've never been swayed by the crowd (at least not since I was 15 and if I was I'd never have been an SRD fan) and RL fans are notorious for not liking change, reacting badly to it and ridiculing every decent RL idea since the birth of Jesus! Citing RL fans as criteria on this would be a bit like asking a Tory MP to stop making money on the side. Right, so I'm not a massive Social Media person at all. I generally use it the bare minimum but I have the odd nosey on Twitter for Salford related stuff and I pop onto the Total RL forum. They've had 2 threads locked on there (one of them got to about 35 pages) because one of the Leigh fans has complained everyone is picking on Leigh & Derek.š And I'm sure you've seen the fact Derek has been asking mates of his to justify the Leopard/Jaguar thing on Twitter by sending out factually incorrect videos claiming he didn't f*ck up and stick a Jaguar on the shirt, it's everyone else that's wrong (including industry experts in the Zoology field.š¤ Let's be straight here, Derek is not a marketing genius. Everyone is laughing at him (as they did with Marwan) and his weird obsession with Leopards. The fact they've signed some decent sponsorship deals and recruited a few decent players for next season is f*ck all to do with the rebranding, it's in spite of! And BTW, I don't follow any crowds... I can, however, see with my 2 eyes that the whole Leigh rebrand is amateur A.F and if Bleasey & Paul King were to follow suit and rename us the Salford Salamanders with a new Clipart badge we'd deservedly be the butt of the RL world.š

From a marketing point of viewā¦.isnāt it strange how everyone is talking about Leighš¤£ Talking about/laughing at. Same thing right? The rebrand is not going to put thousands on their crowds. The fact they're in Super League and have a potentially competitive squad will. It'll be interesting to see how many sales that new shirt design gets. Btw, Beaumont is an absolute plank and you can see why him & Marwan are best buddies. I don't care that he's got money, give me Blease & Kingy every day of the week over good old Degsy!š

Also helps that they are the primary tenant. You seem to love a good old dig at Paul King and Blease! God knows why as between those 2 they have produced arguably the best Salford sides in recent times. They have worked on fixing all the mess with regards to the reputation that MK left us with and is now a club where players are happy, are not looking to sue and one which players actually want to join opposed to the old Salford who letās be honest only signed for us because we were paying well over the odds for!

Well we're talking about it on here but how did a shirt and personal opinion of said turn into Leigh and Beaumont?
I will say again the RL fans(my favourite people in all the world) are changephobic and love to have a go at and hate the opposition, as in any sport. And this makes them ultra-negative a lot of the time.
But the shirt is great as far as I'm concerned and did put me in mind of that excellent Sheffield one with the eagle in profile.I also thought looking at all the others (I only really like one of the change kits) looked as dull as dishwater.
I have no doubt we'll have one for sale that does the rounds of boredom, mediocre and as adventurous as used chip wrapping.

The reputation that you mention was a lot of different things mostly other clubs fans making things up and the RFL not being happy with things MK said, and although I'm really glad that we have Bleasy and Kingsy at the helm and for the steady ship they steer, I miss the excitement.
MK is like the Ghost of Christmas Past on here, each retelling of the story makes him more imaginative and less the real person with each passing year.
I do agree with you about many of those players at the time though and the difference with those we sign now, but that says far more about them than anything else.

I think you should buy one Russ if you think it's that good and we can all have a good laugh at you at the AJ.š
It's nothing to do with change btw, it's just a bit of a shambles the whole rebrand.
1) Changing the club name because "Derek likes Leopards" 2) Awful clipart badge with a Jaguar on it 3) Horrendous launch day with a presentation that was littered with spelling mistakes & grammatical errors. 4) The distinct lack of any consultation with fans over the whole rebrand. 5) Getting his mates to make cringey Twitter videos trying to bluff everyone into thinking it's a Leopard and not a Jaguar on the new badge/kit. Not fooling anyone Degsy I'm afraid. 6) The awful kit with the Jaguar's bumhole on the back 7) The slightly less awful 2nd version of the kit but still one that lots of Leigh fans will refuse to wear
Now I know I'm in the "boring" camp here Russ but if I was a Leigh fan I'd much rather be wearing one of these kits that a local designer has posted on Twitter. Much classier IMO.
BTW, Leigh have made some decent signings, pulled in some decent sponsorship and got themselves a women's team (admittedly they've just nicked Leigh Miners women's team and re-branded). These are all positive things which have been fallen a little bit by the wayside with the whole rebrand fiasco.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what our shirts are going to look like next season. š¤ we pull out a couple of corners.

You may keep having a dig at Marwan but he did save the Club, invested Ā£5M, got it wrong by his own admission but still saved us again by buying Hastings. I think was Watson, Rowley and Blease have done phenomenal job getting the players they have and turning in those performances with the lowest budget in the Leagueā¦.and remember who brought in Watson (who brought Rowley) and Bleaseā¦MK

Leopards /Jaguars Does anybody Remember Seeing either a Leopard or a Jaguar in Heaton Park Zoo in the 1970s early 1980s, Obviously I was only a small child at the time but someone is 100% Certain there was a 4 Legged Mangy looking animal in a cage. Before anybody says it was a Big cat it definitely wasn't According to the person who definitely 100% saw it several times.

Just goes to show ....you never can tell!
As for our shirt as I stated I don't imagine it'll float my boat and I'll get one of the collection out for games.
I think the last time I was really excited by the look of one Phil Ford was modelling it!

Disagree with that massively and the fact the we were taken to court by multiple players, the kit manufacturer at the time took us to court, There were players terminating contracts, we had points deductions! We were a basket case of a club and I got one am glad those days are well behind us

He may have saved it but at the same time almost single-handedly destroyed it with his egotistical methods, āwe arenāt getting enough fans so Iām changing the name to Manchesterā āwe arenāt getting enough fans so Iām going to move us to the training pitch next to the Etihadā āIām not paying for an Academy as it doesnāt produce anything so Iām just going to close it downā āIām gonna give XYZ player a side agreement to pay them over the cap, bug then because I can Iām going to not bother paying itā Compare that to where we are now, competitive squad, multi year sponsorship deals, players who are actually happy, a thriving womenās team, majority of supporters all pulling in the same direction. The start of a promising Academg set up, links with clubs across the globe! What would you prefer?
