I don't post on the shed, though I did many years ago. You all know the reasons for this and that maybe why you're here for an alternative or a rest.
But I do read it now and again! Well I read anything and everything that mention SRD.
I was expecting this to be covered on here but when I didn't find it today and if it is and I missed it I'll say sorry up front for the mistake.
The Shed gets a thumbs up for a thread of The Colin Dixon Trophy coming back, and I'm really glad this is the case. I don't think we make enough of our past history and players and I'd love to see more trophies like this especially in friendlies to give them a bit of extra spice that they often need.

Colin was one of best. Yes he was and a few more cups with other greats' names on especially if they played for both clubs wouldn't go amiss here. If you made enough of selling the idea to the fans you could have a trophy cabinet that would never look bare and would recognise our history and past players. I was surprised no one wanted to comment on this or the Shed at all. I was amazed to see on there some people still trying to cause problems for the faithful, they must be very bitter to do that.

I hope you don't mind me telling you this story relating to Colin. It was the season we went back to Headingley after the the Shoebottom injury,a majority of the Leeds supporters said that Colin had gone in late and caused the injury and it was deliberate. It was rumoured in the week leading up to the game that the team and Colin were in for a hard time.We got into the ground a good hour before kick off the atmosphere was nasty even for us the fans anyway about half past two they do no more than push Mike Shoebottom round the ground in is wheelchair this really made the atmosphere nasty.I think now it would be classed as incitement. Anyway the game started it was clear it was payback. That afternoon was my proudest memory of my team my Salford, that afternoon every Salford player stood shoulder to shoulder with Colin and dished out what they received. After the final whistle their were know handshakes. If that afternoon was fetched into the present nobody would have been left on the pitch. As they returned to the dressing shed at that time it was in the corner at Headingley as Colin was walking off flanked by two policemen, the raceist abuse he was recieving was terrible. But all of a sudden a Leeds youngster pushed an autograph book through the railings for Colin to sign the great man signed that autograph book and more while still being taunted.I will finish this story with what the policeman said as he ushered Coin away.WHAT A MAN.

Great story and although it was a nasty incident he'd probably had to put up with stuff like that all his life. Sadly I'm not sure we've moved on very much. But thanks for sharing that here,it just shows why bringing the trophy back is such a good move.
