I guess our starting pack and bench is looking something like: King Ackers Ormondroyd Watkins Wright Gerrard Atkin Dupree Partington Stone With reserves of: Lannon Greenwood Longstaff Addy Akuala Dixon Sidlow Borouh Hellewell (I think reserves and bench are pretty interchangeable apart from Atkin and Dupree) Not great strength in depth. Luckley and Taylor are probably better than those that have replaced them. But we’ve definitely had worse options over the years *Edited to add Partington after john964 reminded me! **2nd edit to add Hellewell and Longstaff. So many options in the back row I’ve no idea who will play 😂 |

I’ll amend that post I’d play Partington at prop so either he or Ormondroyd on bench instead of Akuala. But I know others have said he’ll be a 13 so might be Gerrard drops to bench. I prefer Gerrard at 13 but I know Rowley was playing him at prop with Wight at 13 at back end of season so that might be how it goes again. We’ve got quite a few who can play a couple of positions in the pack. I agree it’s not necessarily a good thing |

Think he’ll start with
Sidlow Ackers Ormondroyd
Partington 13
I think we’re in a better position than last year with our pack….more versatility and better athletes, don’t underestimate Sidlow, big strong prop. As usual it all depends if they can stay fit.

I think our options for the back line are: Full back Brierley / Sarge / Costello / Sio Wing Sio / Burgess / Williams / Cross Centre Lafai / Cross / Sarge / Watkins / Costello Halves Croft / Sneyd / Atkin / Brieley / Addy I’m sure I’ve forgotten at least one like usual😂 Still think half back / hooker are light but pretty good cover in most other positions. A couple of youngsters could do a job if needed. Have to hope the key strike players stay fit in backs and forwards but, again, we’ve had worse squads |

Brierley can of course cover the halves and I think the squad ( well last years on the web site) has Jack Stephens, stand off and Myles Dalton-Harrop Centre included….and the big young prop is around. Mind you the site getting better in that it’s taken the video of the 20/21 squad off
Cracked it: I think the Club doesn’t put any info out so we have something to talk about

I guess the signings of Stone, Hellewell and Longstaff will see Wright move out of the second row to either prop or loose?
Lots of choices in the pack now. I think we now have 19 forwards on the books!! I’ve added Hellewell and Longstaff to the forwards list above
Might even see Watkins return to centre but I doubt that will happen.
