Read in the Sun this morning " That Salford are still interested in signing Todd Carney". Don't know ! I've got mixed feelings about this this He's trying to get his registration back & pursuing Cronulla for unfair dismissal - Obviously his aim is to get a gig back in the NRL.
however- he is intimating ( SL interest ) to fall back on for the 2017 season . I've been thinking about this two things :- the persistence of the rumour - either we have an angle on him being eligible- which means 1 of our fed spots are being ' freed up ' ( one is going - or we are trying to get Hauraki ( 7th season in SL come 2017 ) counted as fed trained . or we are trying to get a dispensation from Red Hall - ( 1 additional non fed for 2017 ) to recompense the ball-sup over Dobsons status 2015-16.
one thing that did impress me was his flat refusal to consider Yawnion

"I would never play rugby. I'm happy to go overseas but not to rugby union. I was born into rugby league and want to stay there."
Already had my admiration as a player but a huge leap up with this quote, what a shame more players don't feel this way and say so.
I think we've no chance of getting him, given what's happening in OZ.

Pretty impressive explanation , both on defence communication & the decision making on what play / direction in attack . Hold someone points out 'Tasi's Lazy Middle ' before next season ..

It is an excellent demonstration of why Aussie play makers are the top of the pile. And also why Dobbo should be encouraged to be part of the coaching team when he retires, if not sooner, with the specific job of working with the play makers and spine of the team.

Reports in the colonies today suggesting that the NRL integrity unit will ask why Carney (and Stewart & Taylor) left France so quickly, especially with Carney and Stewart they let go their main creative spark and if the clip shared in this thread the forward who galvanised the defence.

With Taylor, Carney, Sandow and now Segeyaro (if reports are true) all heading back home do we really need to bring in someone who seems to have a shadow of bellendery follow him?
Would much rather find someone with no baggage, who hasn't been investigated for drinking his own piss, fettling a dog, running away from gambling debts or a love of the grog. Seems to me this is where we will miss Tim Sheens.

I meant missing Sheens for his huge amount of contacts in Australia, if there was a player to be had pretty sure Sheens would have got the full low down much more than Morley.

I know you speak highly of Sheens and nothing wrong with that. But he as gone he made a decision to move to Hull maybe he thought it was more like Sydney with both being near the sea.I still think we will miss Mozzer though.
