www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/salford-red-devils-aj-bell-24784941Finally some official quotes from the man himself about his likely his future investment in the club. Apart from the promised finance his quotes about keeping the structures at the club the way it is with Blease and king steering the ship is extreme exciting. Fingers crossed all this comes to fruition and doesn’t hinge on his bid to buy the AJ Bell

ttmm, I haven't been able to read the article yet but in your opinion does it all sound believable, is he a genuine person and has the club at the heart of everything and does have the money to really take the club forward in a big way? Final question my friend is he a rugby league supporter and a big salford red devils fan. I am interested in the view of someone who lives in the area as I am from Wolverhampton. Hope you are well and don't mind me asking you these questions. I am genuinely grateful to you. J

Seems like its a really a bid for the stadium and he would quite like Salford and Swinton to be successful. Wouldnt we all. But with our aggregate fan bases the idea that the Stadium could be self sufficient is for the birds. And we cant have 3 teams playing in 1 stadium. Hope I'm wrong and there is a limitless flow of cash but we shall soon find out and accept what fate throws at us.

Self sufficiency would come from the other events ongoing at the stadium, concerts etc.

J seems hard to tell he’s a businessman at the end of the day so if he’s simply chasing the cash then it all hinges on whether he can by the AJ Bell. If he’s as sincere as he comes across he’ll invest in us whatever the stadium circumstance but again everything still up in the air until we’ve got an official announcement of a takeover or bid

Would welcome Gerrard as a fan buying the ground and like his vision for a community stadium, this is a better option than Moor Lane which may not even be fit for Super League. Still a lot do though hence the petition / lobbying the council. Surely the council will understand a Community Stadium in Salford is much more favourable to our City than a Sharks/FC owned stadium used mainly on match days.

Could always ask Jim Ratcliffe if he fancies buying it and using it as a groundshare with Utd U23's. I mean if he's got £4b-£6b to buy Utd then the AJ Bell is mere loose change.😁

Yes, because his money would be better spent on SRD than on ManU No, because football will always treat us as second best just like Sale.

See the stadium petition thread. Deadline for offers to buy the stadium had to be submitted to the council by 19th August. They will consider all offers received at a Cabinet meeting in September with an announcement publicly to follow. Suggest you/ we all continue to lobby MPs and ward councillors to support the Gerard bid. Note that is for the stadium not the club.
