Great win away at Cas, special mentions to Burgess and Syned. Kicking goals is super important - it won us the game. Also enthusiastic defence across the whole team is crucial. Just watched Wigan v KR back, KR were poor. Interesting to see how Toulouse fare v Hudds, keep up the great work Salford.

Excellent result and already looking like a vast improvement on last season.
The brand of rugby played under Rowley is expansive and exciting to watch. We got the ball out wide as much as possible and PTB felt much quicker.
Having a leader on the pitch in Marc Sneyd is worth it's weight in gold. I thought he was MOTM but I was also impressed by Brierley and a special mention to Deon Cross - a player I know hardly anything about but he doesn't look out of place in Superleague.
Our defense put in an excellent shift for the entire 80 minutes.
I know it's only one game, but this team looks very promising.

A very impressive performance last night. I thought Marc Sneyd bossed the show and ran the game; Brodie Croft showed real potential; Joe Burgess had his best game in a Salford shirt; Ryan Brierley filled the whole team with confidence; Deon Cross looked like he’d been playing Super League for years and every man in a black shirt tackled his heart out.
A great start to the season. We have firm foundations to build on and there is still room for improvement.
Long may it continue!

Great night last night despite breaking down on the M62 near J21 and getting towed home at 1am.😂
Agree with all the above. Really impressed with Deon Cross he's a great find. Sneyd and Croft look a match made in heaven and Budgie, if we can give him a couple of yards of space, has the ability to run tries in from anywhere. Big shout out to Brierley as well who made some great takes off some towering bombs and only made one mistake I can think of when dropping the ball on 1st tackle when returning the ball in the 2nd half.
To think we have Sarge, Watkins, Livett, Ormondroyd and Lannon (to a lesser extent) to come back in as well.
One thing I think we can gather from last night is that this will be a team we'll enjoy watching as we certainly wont be subjected to 5 drives and a kick every set!
I really like the look of this group of players. Not for one minute saying we'll be up there challenging but I don't think we'll be anywhere near the bottom 2/3 and a push for the play-offs should be the aim. Avoid complacency against Toulouse and rack up another 2 points and the lads should be going to Hull really fancying their chances of another upset.
Let's all try and drag a few newbies down next Sunday and see if we can give the lads a half decent crowd to run out to.👍

We couldn’t go last night, some of the family did, we listened to the game, or tried to on Radio Manchester only to find that we had approximately 70 minutes of the Hull KR /Wigan match and 10 minutes of the Cas/Salford game. Excellent result for the Red Devil’s but a poor night from the producers from Radio Manchester.

The Cas Forum is delicious reading this morning...
Pre-match it was all about how many points Cas would put past 'second rate' Salford. This morning they are seriously calling for 'Radford Out!'
Second rate Salford not only beat them while rusty, all their tries were provided by Ex-Salford players and their only attacking tactic was to give it to another ex-Salford player in Evalds and hope he could work miracles.
Not bad for a 'second rate' side eh?

Decent performance last night (full disclosure I missed all 3 of our tries due to a 20 minute wait at the appallingly slow service at the bar!!!)
Cas got 2 or 3 early pens in front of posts and ran them all. Good salford defence held them out twice and a bad pass the other. If they’d kicked them or scored a try, it could have been different. But we took our chances better than them and we defended our line pretty well.
We spent too much time defending our kind due to penalties and errors, a better team might have punished us more. I like the idea of us throwing the ball around a bit but I think we have a tendency to go wide before we’ve earned it and that causes errors. But it’s very early days and will get better. Lots of encouraging things in attack and defence last night. Nothing too spectacular in 2nd half but we managed the game really well. A lot of that down to Sneyd I think, not just the goals
The spine looks really good, connections between Sneyd, Croft and Brierly are v good. Ackers had a good game. Taylor, Greenwood abd Wright for forming a good back row. King and Luckley the pick oh the props for me. Burke was solid but never gonna make many metres. Still not convinced by Akuala. All the outside backs played pretty well.
If we can back it up with a win against Toulouse then we can’t have asked for a better start.
Thought Cas were ok but decision making/game management was poor. I’d like to see the foul on Wright again, looked like an elbow straight to the head from where I was stood and a yellow was generous. Thought Westerman was v good for them, prob best forward on the pitch

I would add Escare and Williams to that. Both good players if we have the upper hand.
