Forced to retire with immediate effect, sad end for a great pro. Hopefully gets a great send off on Friday

I reckon he probably knew before Fridays game but probably thought it was a fitting way to bow out with his 2 main clubs playing each other. Sad to see him go as definitely a leader and a fine prop.
I'm sure he'll get a great reception on Friday and hopefully the club make a big deal about it.đź‘Ź

You could see Moose was shot this year. I've not seen him miss tackles like he has this year all his career. You could see that he was shy with injury, or previous injury.
Been a great player for us and I wish him all the best.

My favourite memory of Lee Mossop will always be the try against Wigan which made us all realise we would be going to Old Trafford. A good front row try from Joey Lussick at dummy half to Gil Dudson and then to Lee Mossop. The noise from the away stand at that moment was probably heard back in Salford. A wonderful memory. Thanks Lee.

Obviously struggled this season but for the rest of his time at Salford he has been really missed when not playing. A true leader. A great credit to all clubs he has played for and rugby league in general. Hope his retirement is long and happy.

Moose has been a great player and leader for us. Really sad to see his career over like this but wish him all the best in his retirement and thank you for some great memories. Have to agree his try against the pies in the Semi final takes some beating as our best memory of him. The Conrad Hurrell punch was pretty good too but I'm probably not supposed to say that

Absolute wonderful pro, saddened but not surprised he's retiring. Wish him all the best and I'm glad he's put his family first as that's the most important factor here. Some people called you chocolate shoulders but you ran through brick walls year on year for us.

Moose has been great for us. Both as a prop and as captain
Captained us through our most successful spell so far in the modern era. Top bloke too from the brief chats I’ve had with him
Thanks for all your efforts Moose

Moose says himself he has carried shoulder injury for a long time. To carry on doing what he did for so long shows how tough and committed he is.

Tbf it was mostly Wigan "fans" and the odd knuckle head salford fan.
