Shocking display by Salford. Not worth watching and I certainly won’t be wasting my time turning up on Thursday. Stern action is needed by the hierarchy. Ps I’ve already prepaid for my ticket but I’m near the end of my tether So when the team aren’t playing well you just stop going? Grow up you sad act Listen, I’ll have my say and if you don’t like it then I suggest you clear off onto a board which allows you to abuse people because you don’t agree with their view. Ive watched this team for many years and don’t recall such poor standards on the field, whether you like it or not that’s my opinion.

How did Gale only get a yellow despite throwing about 4/5 punches right in front of the touch judge and 4th officials ? This is why the sport is on its arse , no consistency Moose 100% the right decision but then Gale only gets 10 mins despite throwing more punches ??!!??
It’ll all get swept under the carpet again , no admission of errors , sending off sufficient etc etc

Moose definitely connected. It was a beaut
Gale was more like scrappy do. Did no damage but swung and hit. Should have been a red

I think in the old days gale would have been yellow, it was handbags and was part of the game but I think these days it’s red. Also the late hit on Taylor we’ve had 2 sent off for this season but nothing gets given. That said, I think we could play against 7 and still not score. The ref was poor, but not a patch on how bad we were.

I'm assuming our New Tactics are Get a Player Red carded and then play Better. They seem to have forgotten the second part of that today

That was my first game I've been able to attend since lockdown, and to be honest it could have been 12-138 and I'd have still enjoyed being in the crowd again.
My thoughts:
* We competed well up until the Mossop red card. That did more damage to us than it did to Leeds.
* Our right edge was getting totally battered. Marshall and Escare were completely mismatched.
* Taking 2 points when we were losing by 4 was a really stupid call. We were less than 10 metres out with a few minutes left in the half.
* The effort is there but the execution is lacking. Sadly you don't get points for putting in a good shift.
* There seems to be a lack of cohesion and organisation. Someone needs to be directing.
* Elijah Taylor is a great forward but he's going to get burnt out eventually. He can't do it all on his own.
* Escare looked decent in attack but his defense is really poor.
* Chris Atkin and Harvey Livett are consistently some of our better performers.
Cheers.

How can we still be so bad? What do we practise in training? Leeds weren’t that good, they did the simple things fairly quickly and well. We’re so so so slow, it’s painful. I was as happy as anyone with last weeks win, I wasnt there but It sounded positive and hoped we’d turned a corner. We’ve not. We’re really bad. You can't keep changing players and positions every match and hope for players to gel. And the attack depends on the spine, another new one. The right edge was a disaster, Burgess never a centre and it folded numerous times, giving Leeds an escape route. Atkin, Tui, Williams, Wells Taylor good

Ahh...
One swallow does not a summer make.
Back in the real world we are back to where we were before. Trash. Survival is the only option we should be trying for as this team has no future as a decent RL team. They just haven't got it in them. There's decent players and individuals but I think too many square pegs being forced into round holes means we have a uniquely poor team. Easily the worst Salford team I've seen in a very long time. I also think that Marshall is out of his depth, but to be fair to him, coming into your first SL head coach job with no money, someone else's team, and the team have no team dynamics whatsoever is a tough ask. It takes a coach that has dealt with dross and finds a way to polish that turd to a bright shine. I'm sure Marshall would be an effective coach with his choice of players and a group of players that actually show some cohesion, but alas, we're not in that situation. So for me, he's out of his depth and in a tricky spot.
We are simply unable to improve in any area except ill discipline. That is not a great look for a coaching team at any point and the thing that worries me the most is how ineffective the coaching really is. The 'team' don't seem to respond to anything. What do we work on in training? What areas have we improved? Could someone else drag some discipline and pride back into this wayward group of players? Or is it simply that the players are not up to it?
Given that we can't swap out the players for a brand new group we should be thinking carefully about how to plug this leaking ship before we end up drowning in the Championship.

Atkin, Tui, Williams, Wells Taylor good Leeds three quarters are obviously pretty physical so to have Escaré there was asking for even more trouble than having him at fullback. Neat try, though And,in fairness to Marshall just this once, how can he have a settled spine when Sarge plays one match in 4 ?

The 2 points at Huddersfield could be crucial at the end of the season. At least Moose followed the old adage,if you are hitting someone make sure they stay hit.
