Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, these clowns running Rugby League shoot theirselves in the head as well.If their is know interest in the international game let them say so,this weekend was set aside for the international. Then Super League allows games because the coaches like Watson and Smith have something to say.

I'm not sure we can blame the RFL for this one.Clubs voted at the beginning of the season how many games they wanted. They knew we had this game pencilled in as a warm up for the World Cup.As per usual clubs are only looking after their own interests and not seeing the bigger picture.Less games =less player burn out =more chance of doing well in the World Cup.Do well in the World Cup and you get more people wanting to see World Cup stars at your club as well as seeing children take up the game.

Notwithstanding this at the start of the season each club agreed to release upto 6 players each for this mid season international game, this now obviously affects leeds as they have injuries so have excersized this operational rule. the club had literally no choice but to move the game from the agreed date.

The strange thing is, when it suited them last season, clubs fielded teams full of Academy players; Warrington , St Helens did against us and didn't Leeds do it before the Cup Final?
The thing that irks me is the Leeds Clubs statement that they couldn't field a team, which with additional academy players they could, whereas what they really meant was they couldn't field the team that they wanted. Are Warrington, minus 5 players, still playing Leigh?

This. Anyone who thinks Leeds are doing it for any other reason need a long look at themselves. Hetherington will always play loose with rules and regulations. He's done it all his life in RL.

I’m not sure this is about whether you can field a team, including academy players,is it ? I thought it was about being able to postpone if you had more than x number of players on international duty. If Leeds fit that criterion then they’re entitled to demand the game be changed. Hetherington, who nobody has any time for me included, was just asking for the rules to be correctly applied. The fixture clash is another matter altogether

Totally agree BR and if they'd have been up front with that all was ok. The point is Agar and Sinfield keep going on about not being able to raise a team, which with their Academy they could and last season did.
So illicitly justifying their actions, or lying, when it suits is the thing that stinks

Hopefully, this will further motivate our players and we’ll smash them from what Fitzy has said at Warrington this is a longstanding that was around when there were more internationals being played and tours etc. prior to this season each club agreed to release a maximum number of 6 players for this game knowing that both teams were coming from the pool of players, the only reason leeds have done this is due to their own injuries etc

Can any of the All stars / England players turn out on Sunday ?
It seems crazy if they can , meaning they’d finish playing about 10pm Friday then kick off at 13:00 Sunday ?

So first thing to say is that this is totally farcical. The fact that SL clubs decided to play league games the same weekend and even the same night as the England match is outrageous and they should be ashamed of themselves. This situation was always likely to happen once that decision was taken. Because of the selfishness of the SL clubs something that could have been a massive welcome back to international RL and a big event in the build up to the World Cup has been turned into a total farce
Secondly the RFL is anti-salford anger on social media is just nonsense. There are two reasons you can call off a hand without punishment - if you have a certain number with covid and if you have a certain number playing an international. Neither of those applied to salford last year when we had to forfeit a game. Leeds are flouting the spirit of the agreement for this year and are rightly being called out for it but there is still a difference between what the rules do and don’t allow

Leeds are asking for international to kick off at 6am Friday and Salford match to kick off at 9pm. If this is true it's gone beyond a joke. If Leeds are concerned about player welfare they wouldn't ask players to play international, then 2 days later, then 2 again in next 8 days. If international players not playing on Sunday, why postpone Friday game, at least then 3/11 not 4/11 or 3/9. No regard for players, international game, or fans. Why games scheduled the same weekend with agreement could pick 6 per club then revert to old 4+ agreement. The whole weekend has become a farce, carry on like this and the whole season will be a farce. Note some clubs still playing with weakened teams, and Leeds saying 6, we had 3, so effect only 3, a wider range in some games.
