So Catalans,Wigan and possibly Marshall were all wrong? I know this is a novel concept but how about the coach gives him a game so we can make our own judgment. Either play him or move him on but,for heavens sake, give him a game. Remember, also, that this is about who plays centre,as much as who plays full back Agreed bonita but he isn't being picked and his track record should be about how he plays/played not about who let him go. And if, as a full back, he is that poor defensively then there is little point discussing him or the club keeping hold of him.

If the coach does not rate him,and I sincerely hope that is not the case. That he is with us on a pay to play basis.Mind you all contracts should be like that.

So Catalans,Wigan and possibly Marshall were all wrong? I think you need to look at what I said TH. I did not say anyone was wrong and only wrote my thoughts on his history. Catalans are notorious for letting french talent go. And Wigan had two other choices for fullback while he was there that suited their style better.
I do wonder where Escare will end up next?
Russ, Wigan preferred playing a half back French rather than Escare. Catalans moved Gigot to full back rather than keep Escare. Im not certain that Catalans are notorious for moving French players on. They are desperately trying to develop French talent and have less reliance on GB and Oz players. Mr Guasch would move the imports on if he had suitable French players. Most of the French who have left have either done so of their own accord or weren’t good enough or were bad lads. Theo would never play for Catalans because of the family loyalty to the Pia side of town.

This is a strange thread. We haven’t played 2 games yet and people are saying players should be ‘given a chance or moved on’. Long way to go yet.
It doesn’t have to be the case that players are either first choice or the coach doesn’t rate them. We have 30 players. Only 17 can get picked.

RUTB I agree up to a point and he could be injured When we signed him I was dead chuffed and I simply want to see him play. His attack would complement our overall attack It seems strange to play an England international centre out of position and a journeyman squad player as your first picks at the beginning of the season

The thread is Escare so all we have to work on is the evidence as it seems. We also react to the posts of others which may help ...or not.

Are you sure that all RL contracts should be "on a pay to play basis"? That sounds very like zero-hours contracts. Players have to work hard all week to maintain their fitness. Does that not count as work?

Possibly need some form of basic salary aligned with a performance element

No friend I certainly don't believe in zero hour contracts, I wouldn't being the good union man I was.It was a glib statement that came out wrong. But an aside, the majority of my working life I worked piece work, the more I did the more got. But as I have said I certainly don't agree with zero hour contracts,

Escaŕé Not one of Marshalls signings, Never good for a player to sign for a coach Who then packs his bags.

Escaŕé Not one of Marshalls signings, Never good for a player to sign for a coach Who then packs his bags. Not one of the players in the present team were signed by Marshall. Not playing a recognised fullback and dropping your best player from last year after one bad game is not a smart thing to do.

Remember, also, that this is about who plays centre, as much as who plays full back For me if Morgan Escare doesn't play then Ken Sio must be the option. I remember him playing Full back for an extended period for Hull KR really well. We can keep Sarge in his normal Centre spot where he's at his best and play Krisnan Inu on the wing without weakening the wingers. I know Krisnam isn't as fast as Ken Sio but he takes some stopping near the line. It also gives us a stronger goal kicker.
