Who was the head injury just before half time? Good run out, result irrelevant but still better than a loss. Impressed by Taylor and Greenwood plus usual suspects. Inu lost a ton of weight,Tui hasn’t.

Didn't watch but any win over any Wigan side is a great one, how did the new lads play, and can you see a difference in playing style in that game

Don't think too much into friendlies but if we play to that intensity all season we're gonna be a million miles away from 12th. Absolute fantastic performance from every player going to be an absolute nightmare for Marshall in two weeks time. Addy for me has to be the stand out for a player who was deemed championship quality he added so much width and that extra dimension in both attack and defense absolute superb signing. All the new players looked like they had been playing in that time for years. Aspey as well didn't look at all out of place definitely has to be a shoehorn in for bench hooker.

James Greenwood picked up the head knock.
I thought we went well given the conditions and it being a first friendly game. Back line was solid and I don't know how much of this was either Wigan poor or us good but I'd say the latter, they never looked like threatening us I felt out on the edges.
Tui and Brown played well and a couple of nice dab through grubbers from Tuito set up the first couple of tries. Our kicking game was really good almost all the way through
Pack was solid but felt some forwards were doing more work than others
Obviously quite a few new faces but of those I thought escare had a good game at full back, wells was clearly up for it and worked hard, Addy played well and Taylor when on was a workhorse.
Even mixing it up in the second half we still looked organised and were constantly making good yards and looking the more dangerous.
The true test of course will start in 2 weeks but looking good at this point

Getting quite excited for the season now.
I thought we looked the better team throughout. We performed like we were three weeks ahead of Wigan. Everyone played well and I was most impressed at how enthusiastic and fit the lads were at this stage of the season in what can only be described as terrible conditions. Quality kicking game all match from numerous kickers. Really enthusiastic defense all match and hats-off to all the forwards who really played that friendly like their lives depended on it. Particularly impressed with the amount of work by Pauli Pauli. He's looking pretty mean. Ackers looks the part at hooker and Addy will be a very shrewd buy. Sio looked really sharp and I was just very happy watching how dominant we were for the whole match.
I thought Wigan were very rusty and they'll be a different proposition in the league when Hastings and French are running things, but a win is win and it will do the team a lot of good mentally for the tough start that we have.

Really solid performance that. Hard to tell much from a friendly. Wigan had their 3 key playmakers missing, we were a few forwards down
But very pleased with the way we played the conditions. Our kicking game was excellent. Our pass and catch skills were looking sharp which was v impressive in that weather. Our line speed was really good and defence was good. Only downside was the number of penalties we have away and the soft try but the rest was very impressive.
I thought all the players did well. And even all the subs and position changes didn’t disrupt our play. Think we had at least 5 playing in the half back positions - Tui, Brown, Atkin, Addy, Ackers - and we looked organised throughout. We lacked a bit of invention near the line
I thought the new lads looked good - Addy and Taylor both worked hard and showed good hands at loose. Escare good positioning and good feet going forward. Livett was busy when he came on, Wells looked solid. Costello was probably the least impressive back but did nothing wrong
The starting back 4 of Sio, Watkins, Sarge and Inu were all vvi pressive as was Williams when he came on. And a special mention for Aspey who didn’t look at all out of place

Taylor is gonna be one of those $hitehouses that you just love to hate. He's going to wind up some players this coming season.

Taylor is gonna be one of those $hitehouses that you just love to hate. He's going to wind up some players this coming season. I noticed his gamesmanship and game management. Not only being part of the organising in general but constantly shepherding the opposition into decisions before they had any chance to think if they were correct or not. Literally taking the Wigan ball player and marching them into position was great, giving them no time to plan anything as the game had to restart as soon as they were in position. He grew into the game and was dominant by the end of it. He looks very sharp. A proper old fashioned thirteen that can do everything a forward can, with the hands of a back, and can have a dominant role. It's a breath of fresh air to see one these days.

Great game - missed in part due to cooking duties but what stood out was playing to the conditions especially our kicking - it was awesome. French or Jacko would have struggled today for the Pies such was the weather. Really impressive at times from 2nd marker smashing the Wigan runner, our backline looks to be the best I have seen in 35 years of watching Salford. With the right attitude I cannot wait to see this squad get into the grind, well done today lads.

Only downside was the pitch. I assume it's the Squatters fault, but hopefully will improve given a rest. If weather continues I wonder what grounds men at neutral venues are thinking?

Really enjoyed the game - good kicking game in the main and controlled Wigan pretty well down the middle Thought all the team had solid games , not many errors and seemed like a high completion rate Addy looked really good , composed and plenty of tackles Seb ran hard as ever Sarge and Watkins will cause defences problems and thought Escare linked up really well too

Really enjoyed the game yesterday and while it would be stupid to get carried away about a friendly win against a depleted Wigan team I thought there were tons of positives.
Game management - Kicking game was superb and even if you take out the tries we scored from them, we constantly forced repeat sets and turned them round and put them on the back foot.
Newbies - Thought everyone showed up really well but especially pleased with the performances of Addy & Escare. I think we all know Escare is a quality player if fit and playing regularly but he slotted in seamlessly and hopefully a like for like replacement for Niall. Don't recall him dropping the ball once and a couple of times his footwork got him out of some really tight spaces. Addy was excellent and seems crazy that he's been down in the championship for so long as he worked tirelessly and looks like a real leader.
Go forward - Our pack more than matched Wigan's and the backline made plenty of yards off the back of that. Sio looks fully recovered from his injury and Kallum, Sarge & Inu were a constant menace. So many other options as well with Williams to come in and we should have the luxury of being able to rest players during the season which we haven't had in previous years.
I'd be slightly worried If I was a Wigan fan as they've got plenty of class in the backs but I think their pack will struggle to give them the platform to showcase that ability.
Lots to look forward to I think (famous last words😁) this season and looks like we'll be more than competitive.
