Bad news for Joe. Looking like 3 months according to MEN. Reasonably well covered in that area, but that’s no consolation for him

Just seen this, not the best news. As you say a position we are well stocked so makes a few decisions a little easier for Marshall, but he would without doubt be first choice and definitely weakens us.

Trying to be positive, it gives Inu a starting spot, and hopefully, a fully recovered Burgess back in June. Hope it isn’t another Vatuvai situation.

Gutted about this. He was the signing I’ve been most excited about for a long time.
But we have all remarked many times about our strength in the back line so someone else will have a chance to step in

What a Surprise, Not news about Joe Burgess but that it was reported in the M. E.N . Sad how a Newspaper well known in the past for great RL Coverage From quality journalists David Burke & the Other fellow Mcnamara? Now known for how much click bait and Adverts for Solar Panels, Pictures of abandoned houses and Funeral insurance.

Sounds a bad ankle injury. Burke injured as well Good read about the Marshal Plan; improved defence, improved individual skills, players developing moves, improved transition from defence to attack, surprise moves like the one Saints pulled for the try in the Grand Final. Interesting.

While bad news, I'm less bothered than I would have been in previous seasons. We've got a glut of decent wingers, so while it has weakened us it hasn't done so as bad as it would have in past seasons.

Would have been a starter, and was the player I was looking forward to seeing start his Salford career, speedy recovery

Interesting. From personal experience bad ankles are absolute barstewards to deal with. I played footy at a decent level but I was pretty much finished by the age of 18/19 after various ankle injuries (usually accompanied by a diagnosis of "stick a tubigrip on it and you'll be fine in a few weeks"!). It took a couple of broken legs in my late 30's for the underlying issue to be diagnosed and a full on ankle reconstruction or I'd have ended up in a wheelchair. I've not seen Budgie's diagnosis but hope it's not a serious ligament/tendon injury. Saying that, as a pro sportsman, along with the support of club medical staff I assume he'll also have access to BUPA and won't be queueing up at MRI for 6 hours to be seen like us mere plebs.😁
