Sarginson number 23 is a surprise. Thought he’d be number 4. Danny Addy given number 14, often the other first choice hooker number
Good to see Connor Aspey has got a squad number (30). I guess that means he passed his trial

I wondered the same carnster. I know it doesn’t really matter what number they have but it’s usually an indication of what the coach thinks is his first 13. Hard to believe that Sarge wouldn’t be first choice centre or full back, good as escare and inu are.
It shows our strength in depth though, I reckon it’s our strongest squad on paper in super league, maybe since the 70s???

Apparently Sarginson wears 23 in tribute to his late brother who passed away at that age.

Apparently Sarginson wears 23 in tribute to his late brother who passed away at that age. I had a feeling it was something related to this.

I'm glad you mentioned that before I made an ill-timed joke about him being a David Beckham fan!!🤦♂️ It's absolutely tragic to lose someone so young though. Hopefully it inspires Sarge to even greater heights as he's been superb for us so far and comes across as a real leader. The squad on paper looks great. Couple of slight concerns depth wise but overall more than happy with what Marshall (& Watson) has managed to pull together.

Think the big gain this year is the additions to the spine, which is essential to set the team up 3 full backs Escare Costello Sarginson and at a pinch Sio 5 half backs Brown Tui Addy Atkin Patton 4 hookers Ackers Patton Addy Atkin and at a pinch Aspey
The pack has changed a good deal but Lussick a good replacement at prop, Taylor class, Lannon always underrated, and when the chips were down at the end of last season Greenwood and Ormondroyd looked SL standard
Young blood coming thro Wells, Costello, Luckley, Aspey
And then the backs, best we've had for a long time and the stalwarts Williams, Kear,, Burke And of course last year's first team that remain

Apparently Sarginson wears 23 in tribute to his late brother who passed away at that age. I thought it might be something like that. It was just with him being number 4 last year, and I thought he was number 4 at Wigan but not so sure about that
