Assuming we will have a crowd in the ground, what sort of reception will Watto receive when he returns to the A J Bell with Huddersfield. I’d like to think we will give him a rousing reception, then a load of barracking when we thrash his team.

I'll wager we Will play Hudd'Fld @ Newcastle in the Magic weekend. I'd expect the RFL Will give us the prime spot to Reflect the History and intensity of this fixture by having us play at 1 or 2pm on the Sunday🙄 or as its known the Hungover and straight back home afterwards match.

In this situation, there's nothing more powerful than indifference. Clap him and feed ego. Boo him and you feed ego in a different way. Indifference bites harder in this situation.

What I'm saying is, we should be caring more about our own team and coach than someone who has nothing to do with our club anymore. But feel free to sit on your hands if you want...

Ok so I didn't post on here regarding the Watto situation when it happened because it hurt too much and I'm an emotional guy. Therefore, I'm not sure how rational my response would've been back then.
TBH I'm still pi$$ed off with how it's all panned out after he'd publicly declared he was staying due to the Hull approach not being right etc. Whilst he'd struggle to spend full cap at Salford before he inevitably got the opportunity to move to a Wigan/Wire/Saints we all know he had the chance to keep pushing us on and he'd already appeared to have made a major start in settling his squad for next season.
Having made his choice and the subsequent strong rumours about wanting to take players with him, he's again probably rubbed fans up the wrong way. Whilst I don't think it's right, most coaches would probably do the same.
We're all still hurting because we all thought Watto was "one of our own" and we feel betrayed. Whilst it's happened before to a lesser extent with the likes of Myler, Coley & Robinson etc this one hurts the most because he's a local lad and we all could relate to him.
Having said that we need to move on. I'll applaud him if his name is announced on his return to the AJ Bell but I'm not going to waste my energy booing him or giving him abuse (I'll save that for Myler😁). I'd hope that some of our more vociferous South Standers can keep it in check too as it only reflects badly on our supporter base if things get out of hand.
So I'll keep my Grand Final & CC Final memories and be forever grateful to Watto for what he did for the club. The rest is now history and for his sake I hope he doesn't massively regret his decision.

I hope there's an absolute pile on the bloke - mainly because of his total lack of grace and gratitude.
However, I hope Marshall and the team get 10x the backing that Watson receives in abuse - the most important thing is to support the future, not fret about the past.

Whatever the apologists say about it (not suggesting you are one), his departure was underhand at best. He was undoubtedly an excellent coach for us overall, and he achieved a lot in the circumstances, but people seem to act like this was a charitable act on his part, whereas in reality the best results possible are the very definition of the job he was paid to do. It was great that we got to 2 finals under his reign and my feelings regarding that are unchanged, but I'm afraid that doesn't then excuse anything else he has done. People are entitled to feel how they like about it, but I'm getting tired of being told that I should suck it up and just be grateful(again not saying this is yourself). I agree with Carnster about an indifferent response being the best one, but after that I'm afraid Ian Watson can kiss my arse.

I'm not an apologist I'm not making excuses. I don't agree with "sucking it up and being grateful". (that quote smacks of what some gobshite on Facebook or Twitter would say) And yes I know you didn't accuse me of it but I'm just making it clear where I stand.😁 I want to move on and give Marshall my 100% support and while I'm wasting my energy on Watson that won't happen. It's just a sad sad end to a glorious couple of years. Fortunately we're keeping the vast majority of the squad Watson assembled and I'm sure they'll all want to "shove it up him" when we play Hudds next season as much as any of us fans would.👍

I see Watson has got his wallet out and Bought a 18 year old Hooker. George Roby from Warrington I do hope Roby gives a quarter of the entertainment on the pitch as A pub of his namesake gave me in my earlier days in Islington in That there London, Once eat a Bag of Peanuts next to Desmond Dekker and he mentioned he'd visited the willows in the 70s/80s Also once had a chat with Billy Bragg while having a Pee And the HRH The Bard of Salford John Cooper Clarke bought me a Bottle of Lamot lager while he was ordering a Taboo and Lemonade .
