Think it's quite positive.
For me it doesn't really matter and I'm more bothered about what goes on on the pitch. But it's a step in the right direction for other reasons.
Exciting times hopefully.

I’ve been a salford fan long enough to expect the worst. I wasn’t the only person half expecting a relegation battle this year after a grand final season. To get to the challenge cup final, even in unusual circumstances is the stuff dreams are made of. And we were knocking on the play off positions without the points deductions.
The big question is whether we can do it without Watson. If we get a couple more props we have a really promising team for next year. The new coach is crucial. I think we need a CC semi final and a play off position next year to feel like we’re continuing the legacy.
It does feel to me like the club is far better run then it has been in all the time I’ve been watching. Again, it’s hard to know how much was just Watsons brilliance and how much is down to the non-coaching team creating a positive atmosphere within the club. Crowds have been getting better for last 2 years and it’s been generally good news and good ways of managing things.
I think it’s really hard to know how much things are built on sand. I’m excited to see if we can find a new coach to take us to the next level and if becoming debt free will attract investment to grow the back office team and give the new coach the players they need.
Whatever happens I’m sure it will be one hell of a ride 😊

Watson been totally dedicated, a fanatic if you listen to the players. Him and Blease brilliant. Hope Blease can find someone with the same dedication.

I feel a little more positive on the new logo having listened to the podcast — it does make a bit more sense even if I personally think a few tweaks would make it look sharper. That said — it features our name, our colours and isn’t an embarrassment in any way so in the grand scheme of things isn’t that important IMO. I think it’s important to acknowledge as well here that the club have made good use of someone in our supporter base with a relevant skill set who has apparently done this work for free. I (and many others) have said for years that the club has been too closed minded when it comes to asking fans for more than the pound in their pocket.
I am more interested in what stays the same, which I hope is that we continue to field a side of hard workers with no egos who try to play attacking rugby. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

I think the future is looking good, if we can attract more fans into the AJB that may well convince an investor to come in, cant wait for next season just hope we can get in and support the team.

In theory a brand not just for Salford but the entire sport sounds like a great idea, we should have had Hearns hand off when he showed interest, but being RL we did our historical head in the sand impression and let a golden opertunity go to waste.
That is why I say in theory, as the sad fact is we will still have the same group of people running a professional sport in an amateur fashion.
We need a fresh start from the very top down .

The problem is throughout RL there's no well worked plan and it's always someone else's fault: the crowds don't come, too much competition, we're waiting for a benefactor, it's always seen as a northern sport, schools don't do RL anymore.....well RL at the top, and in clubs, stop sitting around waiting for the sun to shine, for somebody to win the lottery, for the benefactor to come with a million pound gift each year, for the education system to change etc, Get your Plan sorted and find innovative ways of achieving what you want. We have amateurs and protective small business men wanting power and running RL.
The answer is there but you have to find it, ask RU, ask women's netball, ask UK cycling,

Grassroots RL was/is booming (Pre-covid) all over the world. We have passionate people literally pulling their guts out to keep the amateur game going, and the interest from kids and adults is there. It's a shame that the fractured leadership in the northern hemisphere just leads to everyone looking out for their own interests before the sports. I can't help but think that the enormous wages that are spent on positions at the RFL could be better spent elsewhere.

Agree Carnster, lots of people in the amateur game in the UK and throughout Europe are putting in so much effort and yet so many people in the professional game on ego trips. The parochialism in SL, the we know best, somebody else will bale us out attitude is killing the professional game here.

I don’t have any problem paying top money for top talent but we’ve had Nigel Wood and the current dickhead being paid as if they were top talent,no doubt using industry comparisons to justify it.

It's just not the clubs. There used to be a 3 way split: the clubs, the schools and the amateur clubs. I've been out of teaching for 15 years and schools rugby for 20 so not sure of schools. But we've now added a 3rd split … SL v rest. I can see how the rich soccer situation can get through such splits but our game is too small for it.

I think we can see that it is not sustainable in football, never mind a minority sport like ours. The writing is on the wall but, in every professional sport, the top teams are on the other side of the all - oblivious .
